Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Sandra D4 contributionsA gem of a distillery with a lovely story to tell of a family that has strived to produce high quality whisky for generations. Our tour was led by Donna, who was extremely knowledgeable - didn't duck a single question about Glenfarclas and its production. Her passion for the brand and its story shone through during a tour which lasted around an hour during which we were encouraged to take photographs - including in the hall where the copper stills do their work. We were 'introduced' to the individual members of staff through photos on the walls which was a lovely touch and helped bring the production to life. Highlights: the beautiful aromas which changed as we walked through the distillery, the tasting room with its surprising interior salvaged from a 1913 steamer, the collection of buildings themselves - spotless, with their bright red doors and what was once the customs officer's home on the site. Also, no waffle about the whiskies or hard sell to make you feel obliged to buy. That said, I did buy a bottle (actually 2) and will look forward to enjoying them while reflecting on this lovely place.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MrsTCounty Durham, UK83 contributionsThoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The castle is not too big and has plenty of interesting artefacts to see. The ancient winding staircase up to the old nursery is very atmospheric. Plenty of information boards in each room so you get a feel for the history of the place. The café serves really tasty food and is not badly priced. Small gift shop with good quality wares, and beautiful well kept grounds.Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - H BOxford, England9 contributionsGreat walk. Amazing views. Need poles for the top in winter. Not masses of space for parking, so best to get there early. Path well maintained.Written 16 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
