Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went on a really wet misty day but it didn’t spoil the day. This place is so peaceful and felt very spiritual. The silence was very calming. Beautiful scenery with views out to sea.

We popped down to this beach every evening for a swim and either had dinner at one of the excellent fooderies (Pom’s Thai), fish and chips or even our own homemade chilli that we brought with to enjoy on one of the many picnic benches while overlooking the sea.

    Not too much seaweed either.

Helpful, friendly staff, who added to what you initially thought you wanted, which was great. You can buy your boat tickets here, saves you queuing at the harbour

There are lots of opportunities to see local art work on Scilly and I recommend taking any that you encounter. There are plenty of lovely things to enjoy seeing and you just might find something special to take home.

Lovely walk to the studio. The artist was delightful and his paintings were a joy. Very reasonably priced prints available there.

Great service, bikes booked and ready for us when required. Helpful gentlemen with suggestions as to where to go and how to get to the points we wanted to see with the bikes.
Bikes were good condition and good instruction given on the e-bikes. Even said any problems to call them and they would come out to us - but this was not required.
    Helmets are available for borrowing.

Met Liam at Sharkpit bay just round the corner from Hugh Town. Kit issued, safety brief, short paddle around the bay to warm-up and we were off to the Eastern Isles. It wasn't long before we joined by inquisitive but also shy seals. They would follow the kayaks, kissing the end before darting underneath where you could see them staring up at you. They would pop up all around the kayaks but if you caught their eye for a little too long they quickly disappear usually with a bit of a splash only to pop up somewhere else.
We stopped for lunch on an uninhabited islands where some other kayakers had come across from St Martins. The seals followed us right into the bay and watched us from the sea as though waiting for us to come back in to play some more. A quick explore of some old ruins and we were back in the water to take the opportunity of the calm seas to paddle around Hanjague rock which was covered in seabirds.
Then back across to St Marys still followed by seals, it was a bit of tough paddle across but the sighting of some porpoises helped to keep us going. We continued around St Marys stopping briefly in the beautiful Pelistry bay for a drink and snack to top up our energy levels.
Around Peninnis Head where we saw amazing rock formations. We managed to shake off the last of the seal followers and headed around the Garrison to Hugh Town harbour. We were both feeling a little tired at this point but managed to make it across before the Scillonian left. We rested for a while waving goodbye to our friend then back to Sharkpit bay.

Liam was a great tour guide and the kit was ideal for the job. Neither of us had done much sea kayaking before and we were both tired but very happy after a full day on the water. All you need is some food, drinks and water shoes if you have them (flip flops or old trainers work well as well). A hat, sunglasses and suncream is also advised. Have some water and snacks to hand but you can store your lunch and others belongings in the boat. I had a quick dip at lunch time so was glad I had my swimming costume and towel with me. There is a shed to leave anything you don't want to take on the water. We did the full day but there are other options for a more gentle paddle or family groups. Highly recommend if you enjoy getting close to nature and a bit of an adventure. Liam promised we would have a great sleep that night and he wasn't wrong. Would highly recommend and would book another tour when we come back to explore some more.
