Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Marcos was a terrific guide. Knowledgeable and entertaining. Great lunch in the country. Better with a small group like this traveling in a smaller mini-van.

I booked a trip to Tuscany country side with Drive in Rome and ALESSANDRO PLACIDI was our driver. We are so glad that he was our guide as he is the best. We have traveled in many countries with a private driver but have not met an individual so knowledgeable, respectful and kind. Every time we were in the car, Alex kept sharing a lot of historical details and fun facts with us! He made our first Italy trip very special! Alex picked us up from Rome and then we went to Montepulciano, Pienza, Terme San Filippo. Then next day we went to Sienna, wine tasting at Corbuccini winery and San Gimiano. Originally, Sienna was not part of the itinerary but Alex was so kind to include it . In fact he said you cannot do Tuscany without Sienna. We was very flexible and making sure we are comfortable and having a good time! He booked the winery for us and that was the best experience we had. The wines and food were fantastic! I would highly recommend Driveinrome and Alessandro to anyone! Our two day road trip with Alex is the highlight of our entire Italy trip, which we will remember for years to come! I don’t think anyone other guide can top it!!

What a delightful way to spend an afternoon! Valentina and her parents were such gracious and generous hosts. It was inspiring to witness their devotion to the family legacy, the ancestral land and dwellings, and the small creatures that support its existence. L'alveare is certainly a unique experience if one is looking for something a little different to do while visiting Tuscany.

Our visit to Volterra was greatly enhanced by hiring Luisa as our guide. Volterra is rich with history and Luisa shared her knowledge and passion for the region in our 2 hour walking tour. At the end of the tour we visited a young alabaster artists’ workshop who gave us a brief demonstration of her craft. I would highly recommend Luisa when you plan your trip to this region.

We had a fabulous time attending the Teatro Del Silenzio tour with Great Italy Tours. The Andrea Bocelli concert was fantastic and such a unique experience. The tour included seeing the Bocelli family’s Beach Resort, Winery, and Restaurant. All were wonderful and such a special memory. The entire Bocelli family along with their staff were so nice. Great Italy Tours couldn’t have made the whole trip so easy and their staff were just as nice and accommodating. Our tour guide/specialist; Lorenzo and our initial contact agent, Roberta, were so pleasant to deal with. You can see that Great Italy Tours is not just a place to work, but a family that give pleasure in providing great service and a wonderful experience to their customers! Thank you all for a memory of a life time! Doug and Patti

Giuliano was fantastic! We had fun in the van between stops learning more about the towns and Italian culture. He is such a positive, warm guide. Our hosts for wine-tasting/ lunch were wonderful and enriched our day.

Vladimiro and Roberto made our day a fantastic experience. We started on time and from the start Roberto gave us a lot of information about the organization and how was the plan for the drive, and the visit to the three cities.
Roberto knows a lot about the places, about the history and about the region. He makes the drive really easy and he gives advices on what to ser, what to do, what to drink and what/where to eat.
Vladimiro made us feel safe the whole time.
Thank you for an amazing experience!

We had a great day at Volterra and the salt mine yesterday. Raphaeli collected us from outside our hotel in the morning and he was so nice and really got to know us well. He was interested in our holiday and was excited to share the day with us. His van was very comfortable and extremely clean. His stories of the local area and history were excellent. In the town of Volterra we had a great tour and some free time to explore. I also liked how Raphaeli asked us about our adventures afterwards. Then we went to the salt mine where we were met with an enthusiastic guide and it was nice that Raphaeli joined us on this tour. Then we had a very nice chilled trip back to the hotel and prepared for our Carrara trip the following day. Thanks again!!

We were a family of 6, all ages: mom, dad, grandpa, teenager, pre-teen and three year old. First, Andrea, our guide, was the most literate and kind man. I made a mistake in our apartment address and even though he had to go to two addresses to find us, Andrea was kind, understanding and warm and engaging. He was wonderful with my kids, as well as with my father in law. Andrea speaks excellent English and loves Italian history and literature and has a passion for Tuscany and is a wine expert. Having lived in Italy before and also having studied Italian and history in university, I could tell that Andrea loved his job and company and was never trying to upsell us or scam. Volterra is my favourite Tuscan town and his too, and he was a great guide to show my family. Volterra is lovely and not very touristy. Then came the big surprise, as Andrea has arranged lunch a truly magnificent winery with the most perfect view of San Gimignano and the countryside I could ever imagine. The food and service was excellent and handmade at the farm. The wine was truly excellent. There was no pressure to buy, and the kids played in sunny vineyards. Then we had a good tour of San Gimignano where I learned new things about the towers and had the best gelato of my life (Andrea will show you the right shop - no puffy gelato!). We had a day that we will remember forever and recommend this tour and company to anyone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We had a wonderful time! Both Siena and San Gimignano are beautiful and interesting cities with much to see and enjoy. Lunch with wine tasting was amazing and delicious. Alessando is very knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of information about each site. He put together a perfect outing for us. I highly recommend this experience.

Fantastic day out to Volterra & San Gimignago with Andrea Bocelli silent theatre. Towns are spectacular , views over the Tuscan hills fantastic. The trip and scenery all made even better by Luigi our driver and tour guide for the day who knew the area very well and was a fantastic ambassador for Tuscany.

The entire day was amazing from the friendly staff to the hosts presentation. The lunch was fantastic also. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone but in particular, Bocelli fans!
