Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I, along with our 11 year old son who loves to cook, really enjoyed this class. The setting is beautiful, outside the city on a hill surrounded by gardens with an excellent view of Florence in the distance. Our instructors - Cris, Thomas and Tiziano were the perfect combination of informative, helpful and funny. They are very knowledgeable and personable. The pizza and gelato turned out great and we left inspired to try things at home. I highly recommend this experience, it was a highlight of our trip!

I booked this for my husband and I and I wasn’t sure what to expect. But it was a fabulous experience. The instructor was fun and knowledgeable and the 3 pastas we made were amazing. The time went by quickly and we came away with great recipes and a great time. If you are looking for an authentic Italian pasta making experience however, I am not sure this is it. It was in a big room and although they had the wine and the desert etc, it did feel more like a cooking class vs an authentic Italian private class at someone’s house with their Nona. But if you’re looking for a cooking class to learn how to make good pasta, then highly recommend!

What a fantastic day with Walkabout Tours. We started at the Mercato Centralo, where Luca’s (our guide) introduced us to a range of produce. Even though we were indoors, as we walked along through the aisles, food stalls spilled forth from their closet-like storefronts. Under tents and awnings, the food was artfully displayed, cramming the paths, brimming with fresh produce and meats, which we sampled cheeses, cold cuts and bread and then bought the goods to make our lunch.

We moved onto the farm, where looking out over a beautiful valley, Carmella and Luca (our Chefs) took us through how to make Bruschetta, followed by a roast pork loin with the best roast potatoes, beef ragu and we handmade our own pasta. This was followed by us all making our own Tiramisu for dessert.

Amazing day, with friendly and knowledgeable tour guides plus an absolutely delicious lunch, handmade with lovely wines to accompany.

Highly recommend. A tip though. There is a bit of walking, climbing onto buses and then walking a steep driveway and set of stairs. Proved challenging for a couple of our elderly companions.

This morning we attended our session led by David. From start to finish the session was excellent. We were walked through making ragu from scratch prior to making our pasta. At all times David and his helper Antonio were available to help us. David told us stories of his Nona as we sipped our wine and rolled our pasta. The session was at an excellent pace and the plates we made were all delicious. I cannot wait to get home and cook pasta for friends and family. I will 100% be recommending the class to friends. Thanks chaps!

We had the most incredible time at our cooking class. Roberto was a great teacher; good fun and informative. We loved the whole experience and the pasta we made was delicious. The class operates at the back of Tuscan Taste which is a fabulous wine bar; I’d recommend getting there earlier and enjoying a few drinks here beforehand. This was a great experience and I’d highly recommend you do it.

The class was great, educational, and fun! The pasta was delicious and they send you home with the recipes. It was very interactive and questions were encouraged so we learned enough that we were able to go home and recreate the recipes.

This was by far one of the most memorable events of our trip. Francesca’s home is warm and welcoming and so is she. The food was phenomenal and we walked away with a fabulous memory and the tools to make pasta at home

From the moment Stefano picked us up in his vintage van to the second he returned us to Porta Romana, our day was amazing! The outdoor kitchen is my dream. His bella madre, Daniela, was so kind and helpful. Of course, the eating part was fantastic, but learning the recipes they use, the techniques, all of it really made our trip eccelente! I can't wait to try my hand at these recipes. Highly recommend!

Outstanding experience!! Camilla’s family couldn’t be a better host. We had an amazing time and made so many delicious dishes. The class was very hands on and we didn’t feel rushed at all. We also had a tour of their amazing gardens & barnyard animals. It was such an intimate & engaging experience (only 6 people) and had great conversations with the other families. We dined with an amazing view of the Tuscan hills and it was a nice escape from the bustling city center. If you want to experience what it’s like to cook with an Italian family and eat some delicious Tuscan cuisine — this is the place to go.

*They even helped us call a taxi to get back to our hotel in the city (since it was a 30 min drive) which we really appreciated :))*

Thank you again to Camilla & her family for the above and beyond experience.
