Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had fantastic cocktails here to celebrate my partner’s 40th. Exactly what I’d hoped for as we hadn’t been before. Great ambiance, service, choice of cocktails - just what I was looking for. Perfect place for an evening of drinking.

If you're after a selection of good beers (they got G&T's, Prosecco etc too) in a chilled environment, this is the place, definitely the best place in Truro!

This is not the victory inn in Porthtowan or the victory inn st mawes, it’s is somehow a mash up of both pubs !!
I have reported to trip advisor but they don’t seem to be doing anything about it

We go in here when we're in Truro as there aren't many places that will take dogs and it's always been a very pleasant pub. This year they've had a refurb, it was still very nice, dogs allowed but only in restricted areas now, no dog bowls allowed inside due to H&S....no comment, but the food was outstanding so their lean towards not being very dog friendly anymore was slightly made up for by the good food. It's a shame they're not as dog friendly as before, the staff were lovely to the dog and brought treats over, but to not allow a dog bowl in case someone slipped is a bit ridiculous. Also dogs are only allowed on the lower level but they're all high seats, unless you can find a space in the conservatory, high seats aren't very practical if you have dogs. So not a deal breaker but marked down slightly for us having to give our dog a drink on the sly ;-)

Dispite only living up the road this was a first visit. It was fully booked on a Wednesday evening which was a good sign but they fitted us in. We ended up eating pretty much everything, and two of some things it was so good.

The staff were attentive, the ambience was great, the food was cooked to perfection, the beer was kept well and the cocktails were spot on.

Take a look at my other reviews - I usually moan about something - but left myself unable to complain about the Daniel. Even the bill was good. I estimated it at £140 and it came in at £105, which considering we ate the place out of house and home with three rounds of drinks I think was really good value.

Can't fault it and I hope it stays open a long time!

After miles of road works we were delighted to see the signs to this quaint, old pub. The car park is large and the outside of the building is rather dilapidated but inside it is warm, comfortable and welcoming. Lots of interesting artefacts and old beams to admire. The bar maid was friendly and in no time at all we had a cold drink and menus. There was plenty of hot and cold food to choose from. The portions were generous and the food was good value.

We would definitely call in again if in the area.

We stopped here randomly for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Service was quick and very friendly; our sandwiches were all very nice and portions were generous. I’d certainly come again.

The Speak' is the only and I mean ONLY place I want to be when I'm in Our Great Capital (...Truro) by night. It's the one place in town that gets just the right balance of intimate and exclusive. Dimly lit and finely upholstered, class oozes from every detail (and the details are devilish to the extreme - individually tin-tiled ceiling, evocative taxidermia, eccentric furnishings, lavish and unexpected cocktails and other, hard-to-find liquors) and it occupies that sweet spot in terms of size that means that it only takes a small handful of carefully chosen cohorts to make the place feel entirely your own...

5 out of 5, would recommend.

Zafiros is a small bar and restaurant in the middle of Truro, so no parking, the food is excellent - I rate the chicken wraps. They have an outside patio garden which is lovely in the summer. Staff are friendly and the vibe is young and hip. A great place to eat after a shopping trip in town. We are regular customers and have been going there for some 10 years now. Highly recommended.
