What travellers are saying
- Patti P2 contributionsThis was one of the best experiences we had in Ireland. We hiked the Upper Valley trail and it was absolutely beautiful. A little wet but still manageable with waterproof shoes/boots. So serene and isolated from the rest of the world. Truly a little piece of heaven. 100% recommended if you are in the area.Written 24 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neofelis NebulosaLondon, UK295 contributionsVery naturally gifted part of the world. Everything is green & lovely. One of the best drives in Europe! Really enjoyable to just go around in a carWritten 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TrailBlazer140851Birmingham, AL1 contributionThis is a shot in th dark to identify a photo that I think may have been taken here 25 years ago. Can anyone help me? I made the trip to Ireland with my Dad and we concentrated on southern Ireland and in particular Cahersiveen. I found an old vintage picture that looks like this may be the place. Any help would be appreciatedWritten 27 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- C_and_H_11Dublin, Ireland788 contributionsReally lovely gardens with many tropical plants here on the Beara Peninsula. Nice walks, good views along the waters edge, very well developed & definitely a bit different. The cafe has outdoor seating & is well shaded if it's either rainy or sunny. Lovely cakes, especially the carrot cake!! Very nice friendly staff & you can also buy plants here which we took advantage of too. Would definitely seek out this lovely area which passes a couple of hours very pleasantly.Written 20 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Restless59Bournemouth, UK1,039 contributionsI’ve been driving & camping with my bike & hiking boots for a week now and am loving just jumping onto different parts of The Beara Way Walk. It really is a very special area on the SWest coast of Ireland.
For me personally I much prefer The Beara to the far more tourist route of The Ring of Kerry. It’s quieter the roads much smaller so no big tourist coaches and loads of groups of folks jumping on & off at certain points. This area is far more relaxed and peaceful. The coastline is actually quite different to the one further north more bays & tiny little coves rather than big Cliffs.Written 30 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My favourite place in all of Ireland. The couple that created it are the most beautiful art in this wonderful garden. - pfefmeisterSan Francisco, CA3,043 contributionsI was surprised by the interior of this lovely church since we had seen so many churches in Ireland, so what’s one more. However, this one is unique in that the wood ceiling has these carved figures that stand out against the white plaster. Beautiful stained glass windows add to the ambiance. The exterior is also beautiful, set in a lovely square right downtown. Definitely stop by and check it out.Written 10 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kelly L10 contributionsMy daughter and I stopped in this gallery to see the amazing photographs of Mr. McCloskey. There were so beautiful that we had to buy one. There was not one in stock, so Barry made arrangements to have one printed and brought to our hotel, as we were leaving the next day. Wonderful service and great photographs.Written 18 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Michael M8 contributionsDiscovered this site after we saw the advertisement in the square.
Large car park which had a few campervans parked up, €2 each into the honesty box, and you can write a wish and tie the label onto the hawthorn tree.

It has parts in the trees and some along the water. It was very quiet and nice to listen to the birds as we walked.Written 1 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bedouin29Sydney, Australia287 contributionsWe stumbled on this by accident, I wasn't sure how safe it was to walk over (and it wasn't easy to get on) but there appears to be a path at the topWritten 12 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Máire H14 contributionsThis was a very pleasant visit to see beautiful craftmanship with gorgeous timber, The tables and chairs were particularly facinating- lovely cofee tables which would tempt you to buy a piece which would be a great talking point in your home. It's a place you could see yourself returning to again and again.Written 7 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
