What travellers are saying
- Jan b5 contributionsBeautiful walk all the way along Seaburn and Roker. Cafes and restaurants aplenty. Several new ones opened since our last visit. Pier was closed for repair due to storm damage.Written 5 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Maisie M1 contributionAbsolutely first class from start of match to final whistle.
Stewards so friendly and helpful upon arrival. Magnificent atmosphere a 100% real pleasure & filled me with pride to have bought my partner for his first visit, A Cornishman with an equal love for Sunderland Football Club and the city of 10/10Written 15 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - andy h10 contributionsI use this park a lot for walking dog walking etc and festivals and can't recommend enough it is just a grassed parkland with a small kids playback but hey.its for freeWritten 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Miller C8 contributionsLovely walk along the cliffs with brilliant scenery , marred by the horse riders straying from the bridle path who were quite dreadful swearing and acting irresponsibly.
Shame lovely day spoilt by a few idiots.
Staff at the lighthouse are very friendly and cafe sells some local delicacies!Written 16 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Only took an hour and a half to get round but there is a good assortment of aircraft and vehicles to see.
It is really sad to see the vulcan degrading in the elements but it's a great opportunity to appreciate the size of it when you stand directly underneath.
Always do what I can to fund small museums and there is plenty of refurbishments going on so hopefully there is a bright future ahead 🤞Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My only gripe is the cafe we were told we couldn't eat our own food which wasn't for us adults as my husband and I bought a coffee teacake is was for our toddler granddaughter. Please make museum more child friendly and have some facilities for children to eat packed lunch indoors especially during the winter.Written 20 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sueg6Sunderland, UK24 contributionsThis castle was a ruin until this year when it has been restored. Nice grounds with ruined chapel. Children's play area next to it. Worth a visit if passing.Written 28 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JPaulGreenSunderland, UK21 contributionsA lovely park in the heart of the city. While the surrounding urban/residential area leaves a lot to be desired (Hendon) this park is a credit to the city. Beautifully landscaped and steeped in history (check out the Lewis Carroll connections when there). Good mixture of grass, flowers, lake and children's play area - classic Victorian park really. Next door to The Winter Gardens. Not sure I would walk through at night but can't say I would do that in many parks given few have wardens these days.Written 17 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
