Hapuna Beach has white sand beach, so amazing, family friendly, kids will definetely love building sand castles, such a beautiful spot for picnics, very romantic, and extremely clean!
a wonderful and easy to access beach that is sunny more than 300 days per year, surf is mild and the water is shallow so it is perfect for families

The crew, especially Captain Don, were amazing and great with all aboard, adults and children.

Family friendly, great place for kids to snorkel, and even better to walk along the great sand of the north side to see turtles or walk the path back to the Waikoloa Hilton.
Even though the hotel has a lovely pool area with a sand-bottom shallow pool for kids, a pool with a slide, and an infinity pool on the property, the Bay's beach gives a clean beach option and a glorious view.

Puukohola National Historic Park Kawaihae, HI 4.3 mi away
#5 of 16 things to do in Kawaihae
... Very happy we've stopped here and highly recommend especially for travelers like us that want to learn a bit about Hawaii, it's history and traditions on short visit that would also keep young kids happy.
Our family likes history, so that alone would make the visit a mandatory stop, whenever we make it to the island, but the ocean and sky/sunset are awesome.
