We enjoyed seeing the botanical gardens, open again after covid closure. We even saw monkeys by the (closed) watch tower). A botanist friend this was the highlight of the trip. Beware, though the mosquitoes are abundant--and hungry!

My partner and I had the 2 1/2 hour treatment yesterday. Valerie, the owner, kindly managed to fit us in when another couple cancelled at the last minute. Tip- book your appointment well in advance of arriving in Mexico or you likely won’t be able to get one.

Our experience was amazing. It was definitely one of the top 3 best spa/massage treatments I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly welcoming and solicitous. Our massage therapists made sure we always felt comfortable. I had Valeria, who was super kind and did an outstanding job. The treatment is all done in an outdoor little “pod” where your massage tent, shower, and bathtub are grouped together in the jungle. The pods are separated by about 30-40 feet, so you will see glimpses of other people/couples in their pods (which didn’t bother me at all bc I’m not shy about nudity and just focused on my own experience).

We started with the 30 minute clay body mask. Yes, it doesn’t smell the greatest because of the sulfur in the clay, but it’s not overwhelming. Brace yourselves for the cold water they use to spray and scrub off the mask, though. Thankfully right after the cool wash off, you hop into a 30 minute warm, milky bath. My favorite part of the whole experience was the bath. Your therapist gives you a head, neck, shoulder massage while you lay in the warm water. And then after all that, you still get to enjoy a 90 minute massage 🤯. The sounds of water fountains and the wind in the trees is incredibly relaxing. My partner fell asleep during his massage, and I almost did so too. By the time your treatment is over, you feel like the most wonderful mush.

Heads up- if you’re shy about nudity, you can wear a swimsuit. But if you’re not, or you’re feeling adventurous lol, I highly recommend doing it without a suit.

If I could give Sandra's Jungle Spa 1000 Stars it wouldn't be(spanish for straw hut enough. This was my 5th visit to the Jungle over the past 10 years - and each visit it as great as the last. This year we brought two friends who were cruising with us to Cozumel. We took a quick 45 minute ferry to Playa Del Carmen and then a Taxi to the "jungle" in Puerto Muereles. Our friends, mostly the guy, was very skeptical and nervous. He wasn't used to massages and didn't really like people touching him. All of us are in our 50s. (Well, the truth is he's in his 60s! Shhhh....) Arriving at the "Spa" is a bit shocking. You're deep in the woods and travel down a bumpy dirt road via taxi. If you've never been you wonder, "Will I survive!!" Yes. You will!! And you'll come out better because if it.
I asked Sandra to tell her story to our guests. We gathered under a straw "palapa" (spanish for straw hut). We sat around a couple six foot tables in patio style chairs while, Sandra (Queen of the Jungle) welcomed us at the end of the table resting comfortably in her Lazy Boy Recliner. If you want to hear the story of how she built the spa and changed the lives of Mayan women forever, I encourage you to visit.
Now..on to the massage. We elected to go with the Mayan Deluxe. A 2 hour 15 minute experience that includes a full body TUNE UP. They work every inch of your body (except for "those inches") :) It's truly professional and invigorating. Sure, you've probably had a traditional swedish massage, but this is different. They'll literally beat you up and awaking all the unused and dormant muscles and joints in your body. Is it painful - not really (well, sometimes); but relieving like you wouldn't believe. Ever have someone massage your belly? How about your belly button? Am I freaking you out? Don't worry. It's worth it - and don't worry. It doesn't hurt at all. My favorite part of the massage are the "Side Massages". Imagine curling up in the fetal position as your therapist works out your IT Banks, your buttocks, your shoulders, chest and outer thighs. These are areas rarely addressed and the workmanship of these women is amazing. They'll massage your temples, your cheek bones, your neck and more. Don't be surprised if you find someone walking on your back or pushing up your shoulders while lying on your belly. It's amazing. And just when you think you're done, another woman arrives and slathers your body with Aloe squeezed straight from the plant. You're then covered in banana leaves, and left for 15 minutes to listen to the pleasant sounds of the jungle. They then return, remove the leaves, and remove any remaining residue. Your skin is silky smooth and then they flip you over and reapply.
So how much does all this cost? It's no where near as expensive as the fluff and buff you'll get at your resort. If you're staying in Cancun, Maya Riviera or Playa del Carmen it's an easy ride. Brace yourself for the cost. 2 hours and 15 minutes, along with Sandra's stories and a Mayan Medical assessment from the therapist that's shared with Sandra (in Spanish) and conveyed to you in English in Real Time is...$145. Yup. You read that right.
I always ask for Eucebia. She's amazing!!! But so too are all the other therapists.
So, what did our friends think? They were blown away, and no longer skeptics. The gentleman friend said the freedom of movement and removal of pain in his back was gone; and today, a week and a half later he's still feeling relief. Despite his earlier reluctance to being touched, he threw caution to the wind and experienced the full deal. He liked it so much his entire family has booked a cruise in March and he's contemplating returning with other members of his tribe. As for his wife, and mine, both ladies have long hair. Prior to the massage the Mayan women braided their hair in a beautiful bun. My wife was worried her hair would be all snarled when she let it out, but it simply dropped without any problem.
Don't let the Jungle scare you. You've got to visit. You'll love it.

I only had time for two appointments with Martina. Both sessions were superb. She gave great advice & treatment to a persistent arm & shoulder problem in addition to my general issues. Wonderful practitioner!

Our family did both the 1/2 day snorkel and a deluxe snorkel on a different date.

We enjoyed both tours, staff were very good, friendly and helpful. If you only have time for one tour, book the deluxe. The cenote snorkel, followed up with lunch, then an ocean snorkel was fabulous!

Making the bookings and importantly, the responses were easy and quick. Wet Set is a great little business that we would recommend and use again.

I would recommend this park for cenotes swimming if you are staying in the hotel zone at Cancun. There were 7 of us, 6 adults and a toddler, and all of us enjoyed the park. This park is about a 20 - 30 minute van ride from the hotel zone, and we appreciated that we didn't have a long drive to get to the fun! When you buy a package from your hotel you have choices, and we opted for swimming in the cenotes and zip lining. (They have ATV rentals and scuba diving as well.) The facility was very comfortable for this grandma to watch the toddler while others zip lined. The restrooms were clean and spacious, they were open to the outdoors and very nice. And after the swim a typical Mexican buffet of tacos - but the tortillas were being handmade while we were there, it was just so fun to see, and the food was extremely good. They even had a tiny gift shop where we found good prices on the souvenirs we were looking at. The staff - all of them we encountered - were very very friendly and helpful.
Actually swimming in the cenotes - 2 underground and 2 outdoor-, was fun and beautiful Note: not warm water!
Because we bought from the hotel desk, we didn't get a list of what to bring, so here is my list:
Towel/sunscreen ( apply before the van ride so it is absorbed)/water shoes/waterproof phone pouch/bottled water/maybe a mask for viewing.

So memorable an absolutely fabulous experience……don’t wait…do it. Robin and Paz were very knowledgeable tour leaders. Both very helpful getting my husband and me in and out of the cave and cenote! We had an absolutely amazing time Diving With Ruben! We did 6 dives with them over 3 days: 2 beautiful Cenote dives and 4 Reef dives, including one on the C-56 Shipwreck. The Dive With Ruben team was kind, full of great advice, and very flexible to accommodate us with weather changes. We did all our dives with Adrian, who is an enthusiastic and very competent divemaster. We can only recommend this diveshop. Plus, Puerto Morelos is a smaller calmer place to dive compared to Playa or Cozumel, which we truly appreciated.

    DO IT!

This tour was worth every penny!

My girlfriend and I purchased the Zip lining, ATV, and Cenotes package.

ZIP LINING: You are provided with a helmet and sized for harness. You do have to walk up some pretty steep steps initially to get to the first zip lining point. There will be a few more steep steps you have to take along this experience. I believe we zip lined across 5-6 sections of the park. It was great and our guide Ritchey did a great job of explaining the safety measures. This was my first time zip lining and girlfriends 4th time zip lining and we both had such a great time. The staff were very safe and made the experience fun! 10/10

ATV: This experience lasts around 20 minutes. A couple in our group CRASHED their ATV! They were ok but the ATV was not. The couple ended up hoping on Ritchey and my girlfriend’s ATV. As we were getting ready to take off again, my girlfriends ATV RUNS OUT OF GAS 😳 We are now down (2) ATV’s and Ritchey ended up giving his ATV to the couple and my girlfriend hopped on mine. Ritchey ended up RUNNING the WHOLE way back (6-7 minutes). Ritchey was awesome for this. He kept a positive attitude the whole time and kept this experience fun. This was my girlfriend and I’s first time riding ATV’s and it was SO MUCH FUN! 10/10

CENOTES: We swam in a total of (2) Cenotes and they were both awesome. The first cenote was crystal clear and had great deep views of the cenote. There’s a point where you have to crouch down to get to the other part of the cenote which was pretty cool (you’ll get this when you actually do it lol) The second cenote has two swings which were so fun to go off of. Ritchey made this experience so much fun was his knowledge and passion for the history of the Cenotes/land. 10/10

After the first Cenote, Ritchey noticed my girlfriend was badly sunburned, she was visibly red. He offered to cut a fresh Aloe Vera plant to take home to apply to the sun burned areas. At the end of the tour he cut up the plant and gave it to us in a plastic baggy. This was the definition of going above and beyond. Also, he offered to carry the other couples heavy pack(s) around as we went to the different Cenotes, they took him up on his offer. Great human being and great experience. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The coral reef that we were brought to and the cenote were both amazing! We loved seeing Cancun’s beautiful nature and exploring as much as we did. I really loved how kind and caring the staff was as well! We were a group of 6 (college-aged kids) and all agree that we would do it again! Highly recommend 10/10!

We reserved this experience through our concierge at Grand Residences Riviera Cancun, including private taxi to and from Puerto Morelos. We are a family of six with four teenagers ages 15, 17, 17, and 19.

We arrived at 11AM and were promptly greeted by Emilio, who was super friendly and professional. He walked us from the Mangata restaurant through the town square of Puerto Morelos, while explaining the local history of the town and important landmarks.

About 8 short minutes of walking we arrived at the pier where we boarded a boat and met with our guide Ellie (spelling?). Ellie was super kind and walked us through a short safety briefing to make sure we had a great experience and didn’t harm the amazing reef.

After a short 5 minute boat ride we arrived at our first of two snorkeling locations on the reef. Ellie was very helpful and made sure everyone was equipped and comfortable with snorkeling gear before leaving the boat.

We saw several dozen varieties of fish including puffer fish, barracuda, star fish, a conch, and so much more. It was amazing to see so many school of fish including French Grunt. We also saw Blue Surgeonfish and Sergeant Major Fish.

This was by far our best snorkeling experience and strongly recommend you look this shop up the next time your family is visiting in the area. You won’t be disappointed!

Eric enriched our trip as an extraordinary guide. His love and respect of the Yucatan people and the natural habitat shine through the wonderful places he led us through from the coral reef to the jungle. He is one of the reasons this 1st trip to Puerto Morales won't be our last.
