Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Tripsnek LadyAtlanta, GA321 contributionsIt is hard to get to, but it is worth it. Just the best mosaics in the world. Parking is very easy. Make sure to have money for the bathroom.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

beautifull medieval narrow alleys.
We came there for lunch after the Villa, it was exactly the right place for us.Written 15 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The castle is closed to the public, or at least was when we visited in August of 2022, but you can walk around the area and see the views of the area and valley from the rocks.
Impressive massive structure.
Worth a visit if in the city of Enna.Written 26 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tickets are sold at the Bar Castello just before you walk up. The rooms are connected like bubbles and narrow stairs take you to the very top, which is like a long terrace with wonderful views all aground and down to the village. There is also a small museum in a cave where they exhibit different utensils the people in the area used to farm and more. We much enjoyed this authentic place.Written 20 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- dudley1959Oshawa, Canada108 contributionsA must see for all those who love and appreciate the sacrifice of those who have their lives. Touching tribute sitting high in the mountains on which they died. Sentence and movingWritten 2 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - marcopolo111Cleveland, Oh2,825 contributionsThis is a baroque and unique structure in the center of town, facing the valley which carries the clear water from a local river and spring which serves as aqueduct, fountain, mill and theater stage. Original and interesting. Similar to many other similar attractions in Sicily, it is not well maintained and the space nearby is filthy.Written 31 October 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - maaparMount Pleasant, SC901 contributionsStopped here while on way to Villa Romana for lunch. Then visited this church which is baroque and so not very ornate. The interior does have interesting blue and white motifs. Worth seeing if you have time.Written 8 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EwingstonEdinburgh, UK497 contributionsThis amazing site is very low key and the initial impression is that there is very little here but once you negotiate the rough track (badly signed) to the main site, there is a great deal to see. All much enhanced by the lack of tour parties, there is a real atmosphere of the past and you can wander around at will. The interpretive material when you can read it is good although some of it is so faded as to be illegible. It is a pity that there is not more information at the entrance. Definitely worth a detour.Written 8 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sandy AMelbourne, Australia194 contributionsThe tower of Federico is worth visiting, inside the tower there are 2 levels each with an arched ceiling with decorative carvings. The 3rd level is the roof top with great views around Enna
97 step on the spiral stair case is a bit of work but not impossible for those that are reasonably fitWritten 7 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The tour takes over 2 hours. The guides have a depth of knowledge and insight that makes the history of Piazza Amerina come to life. Don't miss this!!Written 22 April 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JoW169Milwaukee, WI189 contributionsMy husband wanted to learn about the sulpher mining history of Sicily. We found this little know museum outside of Piazza Armerina. It was very difficult to find - truly off the beaten path - and clearly not designed with tourists other than Italian tourists in mind. That said, it was a fascinating look at the industry and the people involved in it.Written 10 September 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joseph BGothenburg, Sweden16 contributionsLocated in Nicosia's main square the Duomo is worth a short visit. Note the relief of St Nicholas of Bari on the ceiling above the main altar. Also the slightly slanting roof. Both quite unusual.Written 25 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
