Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did make a bit of a detour to visit. I do agree with others it could do with a bit of modern interactive exhibits, there's lots to read and theres no audio tour, the dot tablet is a good thing but it didnt always work, It would be good to see some projectors and videos I think just to bring it more to life. But it well restored and the volunteers were approachable and did amazing job at explaining details (notably better than most national trust properties). Shame no shop too and the cafe could have done with more selection of hot food. Well worth a visit though and an interesting place.

The venue speaks for itself and the volunteer guides were very helpful. We paid for a tour of the bishops palace and learned a lot about Southwell's place in English history. Also, the refectory had a proper lunch menu and the pea and wild garlic risotto was excellent.

Wow, what a day! It has been a brilliant day. Visited on a rainy day and it was a perfect day out. It is deceptively bigger and takes a good few hours to go round. The volunteers really made the day, absolutely were brilliant with my 5 yr old. Was able to go into many of the planes including the Vulcan and they were very informative.
This place really is worth the admission fee, loads and loads of planes, war time items on show. Lots of information on each aircraft and people in the past including those who had lost their lives in war.
There were request for donations when going into the planes where the volunteers were which we were happy to pay as these places will go under if we don't keep visiting and supporting.

I took my mum as a present & as something different & memorable to do. We both absolutely loved it. We did the meet & greet & fed the alpacas who were just gorgeous. Then we walked around the paddocks at our own pace. And finished off with an amazing afternoon tea overlooking the alpacas. It’s a brilliant set up, friendly staff & great value for money. Would highly recommend.

Lovely walk around the castle ruins with my toddler. The park is lovely too. We wandered over the bridge to see it from the other side of the river too. Interesting information board and civil war walk. Newark itself is a nice place to walk around too. Visit the church too, it’s hidden away but quite impressive inside

This was a fabulous visit that exceeded our expectations. It was what we can only call a visit of discovery. The volunteers at the Museum are so dedicated and knowledgeable and were able to guide us through the working exhibits. Not all the clocks & watches are in working order but their creation is of great importance in the history of timekeeping.

Five clocks in particular stood out:
    - the water clock
    - the wooden clock of Benjamin Franklin
    - the cricket clock
    - the Chinese dragon boat clock
    - the modern clock with 3 pendulums

We spent about a good hour & a half in the Museum talking with the volunteers, but as more more people came in, we made our way around the rest of the rooms ourselves. A truly fascinating and interesting visit. There is a small selection of affordable gifts and books available too.

We visited for a fun day out and we’re not disappointed.
We are not avid race fans and inexperienced in the ways of betting but the staff were lovely and explained it all happily.
It was a cold day and unfortunately there were no decaffeinated drinks available anyway. A few decaf tea or coffee bags would be appreciated please.
We were happy to find that the reduced entry price for seniors tripped in at age 60!

A very impressive church right in the middle of Newark Upon Trent. The market square is yards away and local amenities close by. The spire acts as a beacon for Newark as you approach from any angle, visible from miles away. Still doing it's job after all these years. The church really is the next best thing to a cathedral judging by it's size alone. Dominating and architecturally beautiful.

We had a charity walk up Ben Nevis with the Mountain and Moor Adventures team who were excellent throughout with their individual knowledge, fun and guidance from Kev, Jo and Ruby who especially loved the snow. I would recommend using them as a team especially if you have not conducted these types of challenges as they are well prepared and offer superb advice. Well done to the whole team and thank you for your support on our walk.
