One of the success stories of living museums, the HARS collection are planes that are expertly maintained so that they can still fly regularly at events around the country.
Although I have done many flights on 747's, my tour around the museums 747 was still very informative and fascinating.
Also thought the replicated house of Margaret Olley that was dismounted and reconstructed at the museum was just brilliant.
Fabulous, free museum and art gallery.

A modern, excellent, interactive museum that is very informative and tells it's story beautifully while allowing you to see how appreciative those in remote areas in need of the service are.
If you are passionate, or admire the aviation industry this museum has everything with great detail in Australian history and also the chance to see some of the museums planes fly is incredible!
The museum is world class with well described immaculate exhibits and is one of the few air museums where all exhibits are designed to fly.
I've only been to 4-5 car museums and about 10 special auto shows, but this is easily the best one I've ever seen.
As a car tragic, having visited museums in Rngland and USA, I visited Gosford with a Car Club and found, as did my friends, the Gosford Museum rated as outstanding.
There are motor museums and then there is this.
A short drive to Forbes from Parkes the McFeeter car museum provided a lot of enjoyment, the lovely Mrs Mc was on hand at the counter to welcome us and gave us a tour of the cars and provided wonderful stories and...
Small but well curated art museum
The Bradman Museum houses an extensive collection of cricket’s treasures and memorabilia in tastefully and highly accessible displays which traces the paths of the sport and it's great.
The rest of the museum offers an almost chronological history of cricket, with several video screening rooms, brilliant exhibits and biographical details of the great names of cricket from every era.
I love small museums and this one is exceptional!
We have been to many prehistoric sites and museums and this one of the best presentations we have ever seen.
The museum is so informative with interesting displays and there is much to be gained by watching the 3D show.
The dish (which actually moved whilst we were there), and the excellent museum, gave us a most enjoyable and informative experience.
A gallery, a museum a rare gem
An amazing shop/museum/art gallery.
I've visited over 100 art museums around the world and still found much unique or unusual in this museum to add to my storehouse of memorable experiences.
Located in beautiful parkland it's a nice walk to get there, and is also close to other museums and the Parliament building.

The Sydney Museums pass is a great deal that gives you four museums at half price: Hyde Park Barracks Museum, Justice & Police Museum, Museum of Sydney and Sushanna Place Museum.
I came using my Sydney Living Museums pass (which is excellent value and I highly recommend it).

This maritime museum is one of best museums I have seen and only $5.00 entry fee.
This is one of the best Maritime Museums that we have been to.
Many museums that you find in country towns are well meaning collections of items that have been found around the local area.
I travelled a lot of Australia and always visit local museums.
I have been wanting to visit one of the Jewish museums in Oz and so this museum tick the boxes as it was situated in central Sydney and easy to access.
... - while confronting in context the amount and balance provided helped me absorb things where in other museums in Poland, the USA and other countries there was so much on exhibit it was hard to take it all in.

We took the 2 hour night tour and we're thoroughly joyed at the presenter, the museum and the chance to look through a 'proper' celestial telescope and see planets like Saturn and Venus.
Had a wonderful time doing a Sydney Observatory Tour... my only recommendation is to allow yourself enough time to enjoy walking around and exploring the on-site museum and grounds.

Excellent museum, lots of historical items and the location is just fantastic and the museums entry fee is good value too.
I've visited many train museums around Australia, but I was greatly impressed by the volume of exhibits at the Tenterfield Railway Museum.
Port Macquarie Museum Port Macquarie
Fascinating and better than some larger museums
We like to stop in local museums when we are new to an area.
Pro Hart Gallery Broken Hill
I could have spent all day here but there are so many museums in Broken Hill to see I had to move on.
Today, the museum and the art is a tribute to the memory of a great man and true blue Australian gentleman...
An informative and world class museum that presents geology and broken hills mining operations that makes it surprisingly, very interesting.
A great rainy day activity for the family - this museum gave an interesting insight to the mineral and mining heritage of the city.
Fighter World Williamtown
Ive done more than a few military aviation museums around the world and this one is excellent.
The visit to Fighter World was one of the best aircraft museums that I have visited in Australia and overseas.

... displays and other artefacts, and with the current modern helicopters flying from and around the adjacent airfield, it is an impressive museum and includes a reasonable cafe with airfield observation deck.
Great museum with an incredible range of naval aviation history.
Like all military museums the emotions are strong while your are viewing but the overall experience is very rewarding.
I work in museums but rarely visit museums in regional towns as I find most to be quite tedious.
This museum is without doubt one of the best maritime museums around, especially with the presence of a battleship and submarine within its boundaries that you can explore.
I am a big fan of museums and this one is great for a lot of history, models and activities that are also in a great central location.

The small museum is excellent and it was great to go inside the dome and see the telescope, albeit behind glass!
It could well do with a info refresh and 21 century make-over but there is some nostalgic charm in viewing a museum and info centre that time forgot.
I have seen many and varied museums over the years, but this one is, I feel, the best I have ever seen.
a very interesting Museum a must be if you visit Silverton 25 km away from Broken hill NSW outback I absolutely love Silverton there is an old Pub and old restaurant and a lot of wonderful art galleries
