Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

God family time, walking area but good for biking as well; lots of little shops with hot tea, ho chocolate, Kurtos Kalacs. The outer ring has fish ponds, good attraction for small children

Beautiful, highlight of the city. I am not religious but this place is beautiful. I do not know if I was lucky or if they do it everyday but they were having a mass and the singing was being echoed on speakers places around the outside gardens.

I have recently decided to visit more Monasteries and churches around Romania. This is by far one of the most beautiful and we felt so great there!

The citadel is amazing , being interested in history i have vistited a lot of fortresses around Europe , this one is one of the best . Visited on 22 sept 21, closed, restauration work heavily in progress . The Gps route from Alba Iulia to Turda salt mine led is right past this impressive fortress . i would recommend a quick stop . Will be a major tourist attraction in the near future considering the many workers i saw busy . The town Aiud is pretty mediocre and full of trafic , most tourist attractions were closed .

What a beautiful place! You just must to see it!
Palace of Alba Iulia is located near the Roman Catholic Cathedral. It was built in the XV th century, acting as the residence of the princes of Transylvania.

I read a few articles online about this place and became interested before my visit to Romania. It is actually extremely tragic but also really very unusual. The village was basically told by Ceaușescu to vacate so the nearby copper mine could use their valley to dump the waste products from the copper extraction process. They were told they would not have to vacate far, promised money - the amount of which they believed would make them rich and told that the graves of there ancestors would be moved. None of these promises were kept.

Today. you can see the church spire sticking above the slurry. It won't be visible for many more years as the lake rises about a metre each year. We saw the pipe where sludge continues to pour into the lake - a little further north from where the church is visible. If you do a little online research you can see photos where more of the church was visible. I was amazed to find that a few people did not leave the village and remained living around this toxic lake. We passed one of them with her cow (I think she is also in one of the online articles: Maria Prata and her cow!)

To get to the point where you can see the church sticking out form the lake, you need to drive down a track for about 6/7 km. It is a slow journey but perfectly navigable with an ordinary car. Stay to the west of the lake and the church can be seen from the track that is a dead end that goes down to the second 'section' of the lake. The church is marked on Google maps if you zoom in. In the distance from this track you can see part of the mine in the background too.

It is not only a museum dedicated to the hero of 1948 Revolution but also dedicated to the history of the "Tara Motilor" and of other Romanian heroes from the area. It is not a very big museum with only 4 rooms but full of history, documents and objects from that time. For who wants to know more about the people of the area and their struggles through the centuries
