The mixture of new and old in this building is a bit odd - there are retro halls that look like they weren't renovated since the 60s next to modern turnstiles that allow people to enter certain exhibits. We went to see specifically the new exhibition about the Czech history throughout the whole 20th century. The exhibiton was structured with interesting themed surroundings, the replicas of WWI trenches or various rooms designed in the way people lived back then were especially nice to see. It's a shame that we couldn't see the displayed historical toys and play the old video games we were looking forward to since only kids and their parents were allowed into this part of the exhibition. The political part of the exhibition was quite uninteresting but we enjoyed the interactive parts and various quizzes throughout the exhibition and the 360 degree cinema was a great experience. We also loved the screenings in the new tunnel that connects the old building with the new one.

I never ventured into the museum but I must say that I was suitably impressed with the amazing building ,it's tucked away down an alley called Tynska past the magnificent Church Of Our Lady Before Tyn, the building looks amazing,it truelly is a beautiful structure which you will easily recognise as there's a beautiful golden ring inlaid into the stone work.
Can't comment on the museum but I think the building is most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area.

We were there on the (too) hot summer day. There is Ethnographic Museum of the National Museum there. Nice staff, a small exposition. You are there away from tourists for a while. Unfortunately, it was so warm in the exposition halls, almost impossible to stay there for a moment. The surrounding - the Kinsky park is also worth to visit for a vieuw of the part of Prague, you can climb up to the Carpathian Ruthenian Church of the Saint Michael Archangel as well.
