Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been to Krakow a few times over the past few months. Always love to come to the main square / old town! It’s a vibrant and lovely place that no one would get bored with. There are lots of restaurants around the square. There is the Old Cloth hall, the Basilica etc

One of Poland’s most famous castles. Simply cannot miss this one. It looks very nice from the outside. The castle is quick large. Took us a few hours to visit the different chambers. We loved the dungeon and the armoury a lot! A great way to learn about Polish history here. They also have a huge collection of porcelains from different centuries

We crossed the Vistula via the pedestrian /cyclist bridge to Podgorze where the museum was well signposted. We paid at the kiosk where there was no queue and we were transported to this fascinating glimpse at life in Krakow particularly the Jewish ghetto during the Nazi occupation. The museum is full of visual and descriptive accounts of those times and the terrible conditions some people were forced to endure. A sombre and thought provoking insight in to man's inhumanity to man and a must see experience when visiting Krakow.

The town square is a definite must do in Krakow that is easy to get to by train or tram.

We visited during Christmas, so the markets were in full swing and were beautifully decorated with a wide variety of items to buy and food to sample.

The cloth hall markets are very unique in a historical building that you must see, with a variety of locally made goods and treats at good prices.

There are a variety of cafes and restaurants to eat at in and around the main square. Sitting in a cafe and saoking in the beauty of the medieval architecture is a must.

There are many laneways and alleys that you can wander down and never get lost as all roads seem to lead back to the square. There is the incredible cathedral St Marys that you must see, it is awesome in its grandeur both inside and out.

However, be aware of your surroundings as we had an encounter with a would-be pick pocketer who was following us and trying to get our handbag. They were brazen, and even when confronted, they kept hanging around. Wear your valuables close to you and keep aware that as a tourist, you might be a target. No different to anywhere else in the world, but it is worth a mention.

I'm not sure how or why this Basilica does not have a solid 5 star review. Whether you are of the Christian religious persuasion or not, St. Mary's Basilica is a feast for the eyes and senses and an absolute must-see while in Krakow! This Gothic Basilica will leave you in awe, from its vast interior-space to the glorified icons. The ceiling is a beautiful blue, and the altarpiece is one of the most attractive you will find. The main nave is often the subject of lovely photography, but what you find online does not do the nave justice. Additionally, every hour, on the hour there is a cornet call which causes residents and tourists alike to pause and look up. You should too! Wave at the musician, he waves back!
Take your time in here and do not feel rushed. If you go quickly, you will miss the extraordinary beauty. Viewing this basilica requires diligent attention because of all the detail. Get as close as you are allowed to so you can see and absorb everything this Basilica has to offer. You won't regret spending time here.

Having spent the first few days of our trip in the main square and the roads off it , the Jewish area was quite a different feel. It was more laid back, less touristy. We started at the Old Synagogue and just wandered around. We found the Schindler’s List filming area around Józefa St. Lots of information here on the rounding up of Jews, and surviving in the ghetto and the resistance. We also stopped for vodka tasting at Wokda bar on the corner.
Totally recommend as a safe area to just wander and explore, lots of bars and restaurants away from the more touristy main centre.

Such a beautiful hall. The stands were numerous but a lot of the same types of merchandise. We found several souvenirs. The building is very interesting to see

This was the highlight of the trip to the castle. If I had of realised I would have skipped the castle and just visited the cathedral.
The highlight was the Wispianski stained glass window wand while you were asked not to take pictures I did manage a sneaky shot

Bricks & Figs has an impressive selection of LEGO sets and minifigures, including rare and vintage pieces. The shop is well-organised, and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Whether you’re a collector or just a fan, it’s well worth a visit!

If you want to relive your youth for an hour or two, then give this place a visit. It was like stepping back in time playing all the brilliant machines. Even though it’s on free play, you still get a buzz when you hit a free game. It was our 2nd visit and we love it.
