What travellers are saying
- Carolina Marin10 contributionsWarsaw is a historical city with interesting places to visit. It is very cheap compared to other cities in Europe. I liked the food and the old town. I highly recommend the Polin museum. This is a magic place where you can learn about the Jewish history. If you like music, the Chopin museum is another worthy place to visit. I found a little bit difficult the culture. This must be because most of people do not speak English. It was difficult to communicate with them. I loved went around in Scooters. It was an easy and cheap mean of transport. Another good place to visit is Lazienki’s Park. There is a free concert at the statue of Chopin all Sundays at 12:00 pm. Definitely, my favourite plan was walking the old town. The best food is served at Zapiecek in the old town. I recommend to eat Pierogi with bacon.Written 21 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AlexSingapore, Singapore645 contributionsAlmost did not visit Warsaw and its Old Town. Am quite happy to have changed my mind - very scenic, walkable and easily reachable via the Royal Mile or tram and bus stops.Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- jeff cLiverpool, UK85 contributionsWe visited POLIN on our recent trip to Warsaw, and found it a fascinating and ultimately heartbreaking experience. The building itself is beautiful, and draws you into an enclosed world where you learn about the history of the Polish Jews from their first arrival in Poland, to the present day.
It’s a very hands-on exhibition, housed in a series of galleries, telling the story chronologically. There is almost too much information, but the audio guide that is available to hire, helps to highlight the salient points, and is well worth renting.
The things that hit me hardest from the exhibition; the build-up to the Nazi invasion of Poland, where Jewish Poles are living normal lives, some are prosperous, others are poor, many are well-educated, some are not, some are political, others are creative, many are professionals, some live side-by-side with Polish Christians, others live in predominantly Jewish villages. But as the commentary bleakly says, the day the Nazis invaded Poland, all this starts to get swept away. Absolutely chilling.
The description and details of the Holocaust are heartbreaking, and the fact that, as the commentary says, ‘…the world knew..’ what was happening in the extermination camps around Poland puts the world to shame, as does the fact that some of the surviving Jews faced pogroms in their home towns in 1945 when they returned after the Holocaust. I’ve never heard about this, and it made me so angry on their behalf.
I realise this is a long review, but visiting the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and POLIN Museum is incredibly emotional and thought-provoking. If you visit these places and aren’t deeply affected, then there’s something wrong with you.
I would highly recommend a visit to this museum, because we’re drifting backwards right now, and the world needs to realise that.Written 22 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Greg SAdelaide, Australia1,248 contributionsI know a lot about wwii and Poland and it’s suffering through research and family history. I expected therefor etc wiz through here in 5mns. Nope. 2 hours! There was some really good information I picked up and also the extensiveness of the museum and quality of some AV including the sewer experience is a must!Written 3 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Souryadip BKatowice, Poland16 contributionsWonderful place situated in the neighborhood of Wilanow. Beautiful lush gardens with exquisite array of flowers complimented with fountains. Great place to stroll around with your loved one/s. I visited here thrice and it was always well maintained. Very reasonable entry fee, even cheaper if you are a student, handicapped.
Picturesque views of the palace. Very memorable if you visit in the peak of summer.
It is a bit away from the main centre of Warsaw but you wont regret it one bit. Definitely worth the 20 min car ride.Written 25 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - leuveenUnited Kingdom1,052 contributionsThe most important part of the Old Town, the main square is surrounded by beautiful town houses and full of restaurants and cafes. Definitely a place to go to if you are in Warsaw - especially if you've never been here before!Written 2 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TravelhampsterMiddletown, CT35 contributionsThis is a great museum for kids and adults. There is a 6 and under area with lots of water play, so bring a change of clothes for the little ones.Written 19 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Souryadip BKatowice, Poland16 contributionsSituated right in the heart of Warsaw, it os a must visit if you are in town. Did not experience any lines to get in ever in the 4 times I have been here. Offers a panoramic view of the city when on top. Tickets are reasonably priced.Written 25 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Mikael FHelsinki, Finland24,381 contributionsThe library was founded already in 1816 but the new library building was opened in December 1999. It has won numerous awards and prizes in architectural competitions.
To enter the library, you need to have the BUW library card. However, you can enter the entrance hall and from there have a glimpse of the interior.
The garden on the roof is open to a tourist. It is one of the largest and most beautiful roof gardens in Europe. However, the garden was closed during our visit because of some special event.Written 16 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - zenaallenWorthing, UK7 contributionsAmazing trip to Warsaw, such an easy city to get around, walking and using public transport. - Rob NesbitWarsaw, Poland2,280 contributionsQuirky museum but fun and well worth a look. Not the biggest place in the world but enough to while away an hour and a lot of interesting things to see and try out.......optical illusions, tricks of the mind and lightning displays, etc etc.....Written 27 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
