The Hungarian Parliament building was one huge structure decorated with intricate designs. It stood out as an elegant architectural master piece. Complex was extensive. There was a beautiful shallow pond with its thin sheet of water gently flowing over a weir style cascade. Parliament was adorned with majestic sculptures. It showed its stature as an important centre in Budapest drawing great attention. The architectural design won our admiration.

Architecture and views galore here. The views are definitely worth a stop! You do have to pay to go in the church and the walkway. It is a special place.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our visit to St. Stephen’s! By luck we walked in while an English Mass was being celebrated. The music and choir filled the church with beautiful joyful sounds, including some African rhythms mixed with traditional church music. The trip to the top of the church tower was mostly by elevator which makes the journey more accessible for the all. The views were open and incredible! A must visit while in Budapest!

One of the emotive sights of Budapest, the shoes on the Danube bank were placed as a memorial to Jews killed in WW2 after being told to remove theirs as ‘reusable items’. Many have additional memoria such as flowers etc placed alongside

The views along this historic river are stunning day or night. While visiting here all you have to do is walk down the bank to the shoes memorial.

Impressive bridge spanning the Danube at an iconic site with the Parliament on one side and Castle Hill the other. Take the time to get off any public transport and walk across for great views and photo opportunities

We got here on a Sunday afternoon when Google said it was ‘as busy as it gets’. It was a large enough area to not feel overcrowded. Beautiful area to potter through. Very impressed.

We enjoyed our tour although it was very crowded which made it a little hard to move around. The tour guide was very good, upbeat and informative. We had read previous reviews about the auditorium being dark during a rehearsal so we emailed the opera house before booking our tickets to make sure we didn’t go during a rehearsal time. I was a little disappointed with the singing at the end - thought it was going to be in the auditorium but it was on the steps that were already full with our tours so no place to sit. But overall I would recommend.

We pottered around here and watched the musical fountain. I can’t fault it but can’t think of anything exciting enough to push it to 5 stars.

During most of my trips to Budapest, a city I have visited over 50 times, I make it a point to visit Castle Hill. I usually stay at the Budapest Hilton, shop at the local stores, savor the delicacies at Fisherman's Bastion and other restaurants on Castle Hill, and enjoy strolling around the streets to appreciate the ever-improving scenery, as buildings are renovated.
