First of all I would say this was a nice resort out of the many that I have used over the past 30 years in Cuba.
5 star beaches but not resorts and lots should be a 3 star like Playa Vista Azul Varadero Cuba. If you do a 5 star in Dominican Republic and a 5 star in Cuba you will definitely see tremendous difference. I used the Playa and Melia resorts in Cuba and found them excellent on Cuban standards. I have invited many local Cubans to these resorts and had fantastic times unlike Playa Vista Azul Varadero when I paid for a Cuba Family to Enter and at check in they were refused and more disturbing enough was a 5 year old daughter of a Cuban mother asking why they could not go in the pools like the others? The manager said it Cuban laws and they were not permitted! The manager of Playa Vista Azul said he owes me no answers or money as he kept it . Yes I paid Sunwing $3,400 for 2 rooms and my flight and me and a family of 3 Cubans. My money was never return and I do say this to all travelers get a email sent to prior from the resort confirming your stay. We did nothing wrong except to help the extortion group Playa Vista Azul and Gaviota group richer. The 5 year old mentality torn returned to her village
with here family with out her pool vacation!! I noticed alot of Russians at the resort and think they over booked and it was easy to victimize their own people even if it was my money 💰. I did not realize till I got back to Canada that Russian is recruiting Cubans so they work hand in hand. I will never step foot on Cuban soil again after my experience at Playa Vista Azul. I never once did any posts in 30 years complaining about the food in Cuba and no condiments and no toilet seats and no toilet paper but being robbed financially and robbed a week of my life that tipped me and I will not dissappear online now and never!!!I would like to thank all the Playa and Melia resorts for their accommodations and treating Cubans like family..cheers Cuba 🇨🇺

The water was amazing, nice and warm by the afternoon... The sand is nice and fine... Some areas are with garbage, as per the locals...Also while snorkeling found cans and garbage in some deeper areas... What a shame...

My daughter had a blast! Horseback riding is a highlight. No petting zoo - - just real wild animals in their habitat. The bar has delicious red wine. The beach is just stunning.

A long drive through the "real" country gives a wonderful experience and chance to appreciate the authentic beauty of Cuba away from the resorts. It is a long drive from the coast so be prepared to set aside a day of your trip to visit. That said, it is well worth the jeep ride down and offers some of the most scenic and breaktakingly beautiful views of the natural landscape. It really is out of this world.

Take your swimming costumes along as the natural salt water pool and chance to go inside the waterfall is a highlight of this trip. An experience which appeals to adults and children alike and is one of the most family-friendly day trips out of Holguin. I felt that the lunch served in the restaurant was also one of the best meals I had during my time in Cuba, which was unexpected given we were a long way from the resorts.

It was a peaceful and educational experience, which left me feeling I'd gained an insight into the true beauty of this country.

Horseback riding, fishing (shore, mangrove and deep-sea. A zoo ( most are non- native and have been confiscated or donated to live out the rest of their life). A wonderful restaurant - well worth the $

My child said that this was the coolest thing he has ever done in his life—swimming with the dolphins! And I agree!

The dolphins, Paola and her older sister Brenda, are raised in semi captivity. So this means that they still have access and playtime in the ocean area and the area for the show and their rest are spacious, they are part of the ocean (so it isn’t chlorinated and artificial like a swimming pool) and is as much of a natural environment as you can get.

The dolphins look healthy, happy and well-loved and cared for. Their trainer was feeding them treats every time they did a pose and the dolphins were going for the treats. You could see that Paola and Brenda do trust and love their human trainers and it is mutual. The dolphins are also given plenty of rest time and free play time in between guests.

Obviously it was a bit nerve wracking at first, when we were going in, because you simply don’t know what to expect! But the dolphins were so cute, so friendly and they approached you in a way that wasn’t startling to you. They rolled over and allowed you to pet their bellies, nudged in for a kiss and swam and jumped around you. It was heartwarming to be sure!

This place also has an on-site restaurant and bar and the restaurant serves simple yet tasty food and fresh papaya and pineapples, which is a welcome treat after the catamaran ride that we had on choppy waters :)

Washroom facilities are very clean, as well.

A nice edition to the city tucked away a couple of blocks from the main park. Lots of outdoor seating for drinks and eats. There's the indoor market building selling clothes n stuff and surrounding restaurants n bars all well done up. It's the new hang-out for tourists. frens and locals who have money. I would say a must-visit if in town for a spell.

The church is in good condition. The ceiling is quite lovely as are the stained-glass windows. It isn't the finest of churches. I was quite disappointed in the altar as one would expect a more elegant one in a cathedral. As in most quaint catholic churches there are stations for different saints where one can pray. We were there and children were preparing and practicing for communion.

Scenic plaza with historic and beautiful view of architecture buildings and works of art. Shops, restaurants, museum, etc. surround the square. We came to this square numerous times during our short stay in Holguin. First of all, this is a Wifi hot spot so many locals and tourists use it to get on line AFTER you buy one of the prepaid internet cards from a shop nearby. We got a nice cold beer at one of the bars and then at night came back and listened to a very cool all girl band. There is an art gallery, Centro de Arte, which shares its pace with the Biblioteca Alex Urquiola and its FREE! Funky, unique pieces of art are fun to view.

We picked this as it was not as long as other tours. It was okay but would not recommend a second time around. You see the real Cuba, and the locals came out asking for money at each stop...which is okay but one older lady followed me onto the bus! I gave what I had and would have given her more, but that was upsetting to me.

Stunning architecture set in a very serene local. Has been remodeled several times, changing the architecture significantly. It held the very first clock for the town. The
Spanish army used this to help defend the city as it was the highest building in town and offered great views of the enemy. This church is deeply loved by Holguin citizens.

We went here for a day out. You have to pay an additional 5cuc to take pictures here. The burial site is on one side of the road, and the reconstructed dwellings are on the other. They do put on a good show for you. There is a restaurant and a bar at the end of the tour.
