All of the locations he recommended were fun to visit with good food and drink.
My wife and I visited Charlottesville in November to enjoy the fall colors and drink some Virginia wine.

Cville Hop on Tours Charlottesville
Jon was our driver/guide - he's friendly, knowledgeable of the area, it's food, it's history, the craft brewery and wine industry.
I would highly recommended them if you are looking for a fun way to drink and be safe.

We chose Pippin Hill (gorgeous views and good lunch menu), Veritas (nice rose), and Kings Family (great outdoor seating and cute food shop).
You can bring your drinks / bottles on the bus and drink in between wineries if you don't finish.
Brian did an amazing job incorporating the history of Carytown in RVA! Great restaurants were chose and all the food was delicious!
Brian, our tour guide was awesome - he provided great information about the city and had arranged for some awesome stops along the food tour!

We will do the tour again and try his other tours (wine tour and food tours) as well.
The host was knowledgable in the craft and provided food and snacks throughout the tour.

The food and drink offerings at the 7 establishments were varied and delicious in their own right.
An Excellent Food & Cultural Tour of a Wonderful City!

The samples were SPECTACULAR and Mr.Foley was SO awesome at telling us about different mixed beverages and ways to drink and serve this to ourselves and guests (for example with cider).
Fred even gave us a recipe of a mix drink that he makes with apple cider and their whiskey that was to die for!!!
Wish Wish Wine Tours Charlottesville
One of the wineries, Veritas, had a great selection of food choices that were filling, tasty and economical.
If you want to safely enjoy the wine country (don't drink and drive) leave the driving to Wish Wish.
Loved the drink menu options, the venue, knowledgeable and humorous staff, and the history.
Plenty of parking nearby and there's a good burger place across the street and an excellent BBQ place about 1/4 mile away so you can fill your tummy with food beforehand to absorb any alcohol.
We brought coolers of food and water with us and Pat was an amazing driver.
We loved the cider and the grounds!!! Great place to sit outside and enjoy the countryside with food and drink!!
The cider house is beautiful, all wood, where you can sit and drink cider, read up on the history of cider and how it's made, see where the cider is made, and eat appetizers (and sometimes live music).

Copper Fox Distillery Sperryville
It was incredible to see how my favorite drink was made.. and the kicker.. Copper Fox makes ALL of their Whiskey, Burbon and Gin by HAND!
There also isn't any food and the place is really in the middle of nowhere!
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of taking the new Food Pairing Wine Tour offered by Monticello Appellation Wine Tours.
Her food pairings were perfect and brought out the character of each of the wines tasted.
We found each sample to have a rich full body taste, smooth enough to drink on its.
Great night with food, music, and beer.
Good place to pick up snacks or food gifts
The plain Virginia peanuts are s-o-o-o good, as well as all the other food samples they have to offer.
Had food pairing lunch with a full glass of great wine, had chocolate pairings, had many tastings in our classroom.
Straight through is a balcony with tables, comfy chairs and couches and an absolutely spectacular view -- a very nice place to drink a glass of wine.
They are still awaiting delivery of their truck, but they definitely pulled off a great variety of delicious German food that definitely complimented the beer at this wonderful brewery.
Food truck with incredible pork tacos and a great German style lager inside.
They have food available, but your best bet is to back a picnic for your group and then just enjoy the atmosphere, the great outdoors and great wine.
The tastings are amazing with the information regarding the wine coming faster than you can drink the taste.

The views here are stunning, the food is delicious, the service is outstanding and the wine tasting is a fun, wonderful experience.
The place itself is so expletively gorgeous just come and eat, drink and chat with the lovely staff (who comp't us the tasting when he heard it was our 18th wedding anniversary, what a sweet guy!).
A very pleasurable way to spend a day with good friends, eating wonderful food, while sipping wine in the Virginia countryside.
The menu offers wine pairing with each dish that helps in deciding which wine to drink :) We truly appreciate how the manager of the restaurant walk-up to your table to ensure that everything is going well.
Our favorite weekend activity is to pack a picnic and take the boys out to the Shenandoahs to play outside (they have a wonderful pile of rocks in the front that the kids love to climb on), drink delicious wine an...
Great setting, service, food and wine (especially liked the Noblesse Rouge, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc).
Taste Virginia Tours Virginia Beach
PEH, a very knowledgeable local chef, historian, and food writer, provided valuable info on the various wines and oysters dishes we sampled and has a great sense of humor to boot!!!!
Awesome food.

Silver Hand Meadery Williamsburg
We met with owner Glen Lavender who lead us in a tasting of each of the products, shared the different stories behind them (each drink is named after a song), and enjoyed the fun, artsy vibe that is going on there.
It also happens to be close to amazing Indian food restaurant and an Earth Fare grocery store.

Williamsburg Winery Williamsburg
The staff was wonderful we really enjoyed the tour we enjoyed sampling their wines we even bought two bottles and we ate lunch at the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious we enjoyed every bite.
He taught us so much about wine and how to drink it, the whole while making jokes and having a great time.
Huge variety of well balanced red and whites, each category which offer easy sipping and more robust, food-pairing types.
Went primarily for lunch but enjoyed a drink in the Library and views of the vineyard.
