Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kash M1 contributionThe tour was well organized, informative, and entertaining.
Akina was an excellent Japanese tour guide who kept us engaged, interested, and entertained throughout the tour, making the tour a pleasant and worthwhile experience.Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The store gives free samples of their coffee which was delicious. They also have dishes of macadamia nuts you can try; I loved the caramel glazed and bought two bags to bring home with me. I also loved their hot sauces. I couldn't bring them back in my carry on, so they shipped them to Canada for me. My children love them!Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- fruitministryAtlanta, GA47 contributionsIf you love to shop and are looking for items they don't have at your local mall, get down there and have an amazing time checking out all of the latest designer threads and so much more. Pure eye candy and just remember that the bag you check for your travel should be empty!!!Written 13 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mkapeckasAyer, MA3 contributionsWe had a really fun time at the chocolate tasting! All in all, we tried 20 different types of chocolate. Our tour guide made it really fun. - AQueenBTexas558 contributionsWe had our first taste of these cookies on our Hawaiian Airlines flight and I thot they were amazing. They were so yummy. So during our stay in Waikiki, I went on a hunt to buy some more of the delicious tidbits. I found the Honolulu Cookie store near our hotel and I loaded up on these delicious cookies. They are beautifully packaged and reasonably priced. Sadly they didn’t last long.Written 9 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kaniconLos Angeles, CA719 contributionsA favorite souvenir for family and friends. This visit around, I found holiday additions that were too cute to pass up on. There were Valentine’s boxes and year of the tiger in anticipation of this upcoming lunar new year festivities. The salesperson told us only 3 stores on the island carried the year of the tiger box sets.Written 24 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David B103 contributionsFantastic Hawaiian Shave Ice and friendly owner ! At Matsumoto’s down the street, everyone stands in long lines. The General Store is better. Come down here instead.Written 5 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- beasttravelerSeattle, WA27 contributionsNo high pressure sales tactics, but very nice and patient customer service. Gorgeous mermaid tail ring. Unique with a black pearl or with a diamond. She gave me so much space to decide, and I appreciate the low pressure sales tactic so much, gave me a good feeling about the brand. If you are kamai'ana, you can get a 10% discount with proof or residency. I'll be back to treat myself to the ring! Lifetime warranty too!Written 13 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sightseer779040287 contributionsI found this shop while looking for places to shop at near the hotel that I was staying at. There are many different locations around the island. The employee was very friendly and was very quick to keep the shop stocked and looking clean and organized. They have many different gift boxes and gift tins. However, to get the most of your money, there are boxes that you can individually fill with the cookies you want. This is the most economical on cost per cookie. There are different size boxes ranging from 10-30 cookies to put in the box. Surprisingly, the best value is the 20 cookies box. When I went, they had around 11 different flavors, with 3 different seasonal flavors (fall flavors). So a box of 20 lets you get all 14 plus 6 repeats. To me this shop is a perfect way to try the shortbread cookies Hawaii is known for, and get a great gift for those at home. The reusable bag is 25 cents extra. They also have a stamp card for every $5 you spend and you can get a free gift after spending $50, although I never reached that high to see what it was. Maybe whenever I visit on my next trip, I will bring the stamp card back to get more gifts. I am excited to have a little sampling of the different flavors and create gift bags for family with the cookies I got in my box.Written 12 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KirillLynnwood, WA13 contributionsBest surf school possibly in the world! Seven, (yes that’s our instructor’s name) was a really great teacher, I am now not even a little bit scared of the waves. Many beach options. Will come back! Seven, is probably the best surf teacher in the world! 🌊🏄Written 23 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LuLu_n_SCMurrells Inlet, SC10 contributionsWe went here to sample some Hawaiian meads. They did not disappoint!! It was tricky finding the location - our Uber/Lyft driver took a wrong turn - but it was so worth the slight misadventure!! The staff were very informative and helpful. The meads were very good.Written 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WendyMcL13Shandon, UK400 contributionsFabulous variety of Hawain shirt material. I was spoilt for choice.
I bought enough for two shirts and the UK price was around £20-25 total. Amaxing value. The store works only in imperial measurements so have an idea of how many yards you need for a shirt if you are used to working in metric metres. The store weren't able to do a conversion.
Our tour guide from our trip to the Arizona memorial had driven us past this store and recommended a visit and I'm very glad we went.
It is also around the corner from the discount Don Qihote store and we had also been recommended to go there. There are plenty of taxis available if you go to Don Qihote for shopping so I would recommend combining a trip to the fabric store and Don Qihote on the same trip.Written 13 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Having been consumers of their products we thought it would be a interesting to see how it was made.
We had no idea until we arrived that we were going to get to make our own box of chocolates. Very cool!
When we arrived we were greeted with smiles and almost a familiarity like we were old friends. The tour was very informative and interesting. I learned more about the process than I thought possible.
The family’s passion for what they do, concern for the future and knowledge was amazing. How often do you get a tour of a factory from the company president?
Thank you all! We had a blast and will return.Written 22 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Danyellecedar15 was super professional and at the same time made me feel comfortable enough to come out of the fitting room to ask for suggestions
She went above and beyond to help me find the perfect fitting bikin and continued to show me all the different ways I could wear the top
I’m a huge fan
