Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was an incredible experience! It was supposed to be a group class but it ended up being just my partner and I which was a bonus. You start off at the Palais Amani - it’s a beautiful boutique hotel with a gorgeous tiled garden/courtyard. We were served unlimited Moroccan mint tea as we arrived early. We then were guided through the Medina to pick up our ingredients. We also did a culinary tasting tour where we stopped at various vendors for a private tasting. Abdul, our guide, was a great host - very informative and kind! We then returned to the hotel’s rooftop kitchen. The view is great and the setup is very cool. Our cooking lesson was great and we had lots of laughs and encouragement from the chef. We were then served our meal that we cooked in the courtyard downstairs. We were surprised with a basket of samples of the spices we used in our dish, a recipe card, chefs hats, and a certificate. I’m so glad we booked this tour and cooking class!

We had an amazing evening! There was a great range of dishes to choose from and we got to try some extra homemade treats. Yassine was a great host, he was very fun and informative - he gave us lots of information about the local area, Moroccan culture and cuisine as well as teaching us how to cook! I would definitely recommend to any foodies visiting Fes, I can’t wait to get home and cook the dishes again for friends and family

Class directed by Chef Fatima with participation by the restaurant maitre’d. Our visit included Fatima’s family who gave us a wonderful perspective on Moroccan cuisine and family meals. Fun, informative and delicious. Very nice class set up.

Fatimah and her grandmother were the kindest and friendliest people we've met so far in Marocco. We had the loveliest of time, we learnt a lot and had so much fun! We must also admit that the food we cooked with them was the best food we've had on our trip! I 100% recommend this experience...even if you don't have much time in Fez please do it, do yourself the favor...you won't regret it!

It was an amazing experience. Me and my friends learned a lot of Moroccan dishes during the class. The chef was really experienced and took care about our questions. If you are here in Fez, this is a must.

Had a really lovely time! Fatima and Chef explained it really well throughout the process and we really enjoyed eating what we cooked afterwards. We cooked a tagine, zalout, shakshouka and a carrot salad. On top of it Fatima answered many questions we had about Fez and Morroco.

This meal surpassed all expectations! Our 8-year-old exclaimed, 'They even made turnips delicious!' We joined Fatima and Sufyan at the bustling market, immersing ourselves in the vibrant array of ingredients. Spotting his favorite street cat, we shared a bite of our meat before retreating to Sufyan's stunning home. In the kitchen, guided by our hosts, we crafted their signature Friday iftar couscous. As we savored the dish on his picturesque terrace, overlooking Fes, it was clear: this was more than a cooking class; it was a cultural journey. Engaging with Sufyan's way of life, our kids were enthralled, making our time with him a highlight of our Moroccan adventure

Abdul and Fatima are a lovely couple who - along with their family - open their home to share Moroccan cooking and traditions with you. There was a glitch/mix-up with our registration, so we weren't picked up as scheduled, but when I contacted Abdul, he immediately rectified the situation, and we were picked up within 30 minutes. (And even with that inconvenience, I'm still giving it five stars - that's how good it was!) He then took us on a tour of the food market at night with several tastings. We'd been warned as tourists not to be too adventurous at the market and not drink the water, but Abdul was sensitive to this, took us only to reputable and clean stalls, and provided bottled water; none of us had any issues afterward. We were making tagines, and he encouraged us to share what foods we liked or didn't like so we could tailor the recipes - we had a vegetarian, a gluten-free, and someone who didn't like seafood in our group, and he accommodated all of it (although reminders were understandably helpful for them). We even picked out our own veggies and fruits to try at the market and to use in the recipes. The cooking class with Fatima (Abdul's wife) and Fatiha (his mother) back at their guesthouse/hotel was delightful - we were encouraged to help, and we wrote down recipes to take home. The setting (the tour photo doesn't do it justice) was absolutely gorgeous, built in the 1500s and covered in fabulous mosaics. We also had wonderful conversation with the family about life in Morocco. Then the best part - we enjoyed a variety of appetizer salads and two different tagines (all of which we'd helped to make), and then dessert in the beautiful rooftop restaurant of their guesthouse. This tour was perhaps the highlight of our week-long trip through Morocco (we were on an organized group tour but booked this class during a free evening, and we liked it MUCH better than the optional excursions on our tour!), and we would HIGHLY recommend it to others. It was beautiful, authentic, and meaningful - not to mention DELICIOUS!

We had a wonderful time at our cooking class with Hassan and the Sultana staff. Definitely recommend for a family activity - our kids loved it and are excited to make the dishes again when we are back home. We cooked multiple dishes and enjoyed a leisurely lunch. Pick up and drop off was included from our Riad too! Thanks to everyone at Sultana!

My wife and I had a great time during our cooking class at
bab sahra . It was a fun way to learn more about Moroccan cuisine and meet other travelers. I am giving 6 stars rather than 5 only because I would have enjoved learning more than one dish during our class.

I went to visit the hostel rooftop and prepared some dishes with a local cook. We visited a traditional shared oven and I got to prepare citrus small puffs and semoule bread
