- Happiness230957070191 contributionGreat way to see a lot of Morocco, you see the mountains, river gorges, palm lined valleys, and the desert dunes. Highlights were the steep cliffs of the Dades Gorge, taking an ATV through the desert, and of course the Sahara itself. A lot of driving involved, so make sure to check the full itinerary for how many stops and how many hours of driving to make sure you’re aware going into the trip. Also bring lots of water (it’s not included) and cash since there are few ATMs in the desert. Be aware that you’ll only be in the dunes portion of the trip for about half a day and one evening, it is truly far inland.
Our guide/driver Mohamed was fantastic, knowledgeable about the areas we were passing, friendly and conversational throughout the three days. The tour was well organised, we were picked up on time close to our riad and looked after so well the entire time. The desert camp was an amazing experience, the bed was comfortable, shower worked well and food provided was yum. Camels and ATV ride was the highlight and we even had an opportunity to stop for the sunset and sunrise to take photos and admire the scenery. The 2nd night stay in a hotel was also lovely, great food, comfortable room and very clean. Our driver Abis was very friendly and funny. He took photos of us on the camels and answered all our questions. The drive was a bit longer than expected due to other slow drivers and farm equipment, I wouldn't want to drive my self. - Miguel Bowden3 contributionsWe left from Fes early morning and Sami picked us up exactly where we agreed the night before. The trip was long but easy because our driver, Mustafa, was a fantastic guide and spoke great English and Spanish. We stopped at various points during the trip for bathroom, food and sightseeing.
The campsite was luxury, as it had Wi-Fi, running water for showers/toilet/sink and comfy beds. At night, local Moroccan food is served, live local music is played and games are played. In the morning, a hefty breakfast is served so that you don’t get hungry on your trip back.
Bring your cameras because the sunsets and sunrises are stunning! There was a miscommunication where our guide thought we booked a full day tour (we confirmed we booked 4 hours) so we had a couple of stops outside the medina by bus and had to speed through the last couple stops.
More of a gripe with tours in general in Morocco, but the tend to take you to places to "shop" where they give you a long tour/demonstration (rugs, tannery/leather, copper). These places expect at least a tip, even better a purchase. Additionally prices are inflated with a guide due to them receiving a cut.

He provided with information on-route and made the journey fun. While the journey to Chefchauen from Fes is relatively long i.e. 4 hours, we stopped a couple of times for views and to stretch our legs.
