Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely my favorite site in all of Fez. We went in the late afternoon and had the place to ourselves. Due to recent restoration work, this was the best preserved of the three madrasas we visited that day. The masonry and carpentry wonderfully done. The dormitory rooms on the second and third floors provide some good views of the streets below and the Kairouan University/mosque nearby.

This is a special experience in this big city. The park is large and its views are great. I very much loved the experience. I will repeat it as soon as possible 😊

Of the Fez madrasas, this one is unique in that it is still adjoined to a working mosque which provides an added element not seen at some of the others. Also because of this, access is limited. It is widely considered among the finest instances of Marinid architecture in Fez. Excellent examples of masonry, carpentry, and craftmenship.

The Fes el Bali Medina is one of the best in the world! There is everything there. So many cool sights, markets with fruits, clothes, souvenirs, leather goods, etc. The Fes el Bali Medina is incredible! It is a must see and you can’t miss it. I highly recommend for a “real” taste of Morocco!

On my first day in Fes, I used this beautiful gate as my reference point to go back to my riad. There are lots do behind these Gate: eating at restaurants, shopping, buying Moroccan sweets, visiting tourist attractions, watching people passing by, etc.

Noted that this Gate has 2 colors: Blue on one side, green on the other side. In front of this Gate are the modern parts of Fes.

My boyfriend and I had the most AMAZING time on our 2 day tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert. Everything was INCREDIBLE from start to finish. Mohamed answered all my questions and made booking our tour so easy. Our guide, Omar, was the the ABSOLUTE BEST! He taught us so much about the history of the areas we visited and about Morocco as a whole. He made sure we were able to see all the amazing sites while getting us to our camel ride in time for the sunset. Our campground was gorgeous and Ismael was the most gracious host. The restaurants we stopped at along the way had the most delicious food. I've already recommended this tour to friends & family interested in visiting Morocco and I will definitely be booking another tour with them on my next trip. Don't hesitate to book a tour with this AWESOME company!

A beautiful mosaics displayed in old buildings with an impressive fountain displayed in the old quarters. Many impressive buildings are viewed with nice detailing in the architectural design.

My family of 6 took an incredible 10 day tour around Morocco with this team.
The itinerary they designed was fantastic, bringing us to highlights across the country, while being mindful of driving times, incorporating delicious meals, and booking unique accommodations for us along the way.

For our packed 10-day experience, the tour price was extremely reasonable. My favorite stop was definitely in the Sahara, where we stayed at a luxury glamping site, had tea in nomadic Berber tents, rode camels, and sand-boarded down the dunes at sunset. However, every site we went to was uniquely stunning in their own way. Each experience was so streamlined (including what time we went to each attraction to maximize their beauty), that it’s clear this team knows what they’re doing.

Our driver, Youssef, was especially wonderful. He is so knowledgeable, patient, and just fun to be around (which is ideal when we spent so much time driving around the country together).

I’m so glad we took this tour that brought us to the unique experiences, stunning scenery, and friendly people all around Morocco. I highly recommend booking with Desert Morocco tours, and ask for Youssef!

This section of the Medina hosts the coppersmiths and metalworkers. They make copper and brass bowls, plates, and naturally pots and pans.

This attraction is a neighborhood located just outside the Old Medina. It has stores and shops like those of the Medina, but not as big. Took several pictures of items that interest me, no buying, just looking around.

Souk el Henna has been in operation for so long that hardly anyone knows when it actually started. It sells everything you can imagine, but cosmetics, perfumes, clothing, homewares, fruit and veges , and a host of other things are all sold there. There are many artisans working and making things from scratch. It is the real Fes! Worth a visit.

Temptation was strong as I walked through the outdoor area with the fountains and the store after I had watched the artists preparing, making, and explaining their work. Their pride was palpable. I was especially enamoured with the fountains. We had recently moved and I could picture one in the backyard of our townhouse. Problem was I was with a tour group and wouldn't have had time to select and purchase one and they can't be ordered. So my suggestion would be to look at all the pictures before you go, see what appeals to you and be ready to buy when you see in person. Everything is beautiful and the manager Ahmed is eager to share the art and help you make a selection. You won't see products like these just anywhere.

Our local Fes guide, Hassan, drove us up here after a tour of the Royal Palace grounds and old Jewish Quarter on a Wednesday in March 2022. We only walked along the outer area for a panoramic view. There was a man selling fez hats, but we decided to shop for those down in the city.

This small synagogue was built in the 17th Cent. by Mimoun Ben Sidan, a wealthy Jewish merchant.
It is located in the Mellah district partof the historic medina of Fes.
Nice restoration work was done in 1999 . Visiting here can help you get a better knowledge of Jewish Heritage in Morroco .
If you are strolling through the Mellah - it is worth to pay a visit .
