Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- howiet1971Swindon, UK1,870 contributionsWorth 2 separate visits as daytime here is different to the night times. In the daytime, there are musicians, snake charmers, fruit sellers and other stalls all vying for your business, all the while cars and scooters are driving through the square and not on a dedicated road! At night time, the square turns into the night market which includes dozens at pop-up restaurants and cafes, more musicians, story tellers and performers. It’s an exciting, chaotic place to visit and you will probably pass through here multiple times when visiting the Souks and they start from here.Written 28 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ulisanAthens, Greece312 contributionsIf staying for two or more days in Marrakech this is a neighborhood that you will visit. It's more European style with clothes stores, restaurants, clubs, etc. Depends what you are looking for.Written 22 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kirstin GCanterbury, UK553 contributionsThese are interesting historical city walls, which give an authentic sense of the city’s history. They are also a useful landmark for finding your way around when you get lost in the medinas!Written 8 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - howiet1971Swindon, UK1,870 contributionsThis was a goods half an hour (at least) walk from Koutoubia Mosque (a straight line to the gardens from there) through the new town (you pass a shopping mall which is worth a look). The gardens are pretty much a lake with a Pavilion on one side and surrounded by olive groves.
This is the important bit: if the day is cloudy/hazy and you cannot see the Atlas Mountains in the distance, I wouldn’t bother going. That is what makes the visit worthwhile, and also makes your photos interesting! Without the view I would have been disappointed. You can also go inside the Pavilion (for a fee) which is only really good for photo opportunities on the balcony, but not really worth the money if you are expecting a grand building inside, and if you have to pay for a whole family. This is not a necessary visit to Marrakech.Written 27 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
