Now there is a new route to Entoto and a viewpoint. Recreation areas are ok. But don't go on weekends as it's very crowded.

I came here mainly to see Lucy's skeleton. It's 3.2 million years old. She was an Australopithicus afarensis. She was bipedal. She was not one of our ancestors.

I agree with the reviews that this is not an optional activity. It puts so much of the recent history into perspective and is impactful even though somewhat run down and dusty. It small and can be done in under an hour.

worth seeing this type of cathedral, an interesting contrast to the traditional churches arond the contry one sees as a tourist. Also interesting to see the tomb of Slyvia Pankhurst (and her son, Richard) outside

I was pleasantly surprised by this park. Very cool to see all the historical buildings mixed with the lush green park. Everything was very well maintained. The places for animals was unfortunately quite small but still a lot bigger then I expected

Mulat is very kind and as a guide he know everything about the place!! He explain us a lot of things about the place and motivate us during the trekking. He is also a very good photographer!! The park is absolutely amazing, so much green and relaxing! You feel absorbed in the silence, you can only ear the sounds of birds. you can see also baboons, colorful butterflys.

Located inside of Addis Ababa University. The superb collections of Ethiopia's cultural, religious, traditional artifacts as well as Emperor Haile Selassie's preserved bathroom and bedroom, as a reminder that it was a former palace. Wish to see cataloguing the objects with date and location.

Its compound and the way people behave therein add great relaxing environment where you prefer to attune your attention to spiritual affairs.

Interesting art display in a church (at least from my perspective) - art is quite similar to Catholic scenes, which I've not seen before. There's an entrance fee, and then we tipped the guide.

Refreshment in the city! The areas are very well built, have lots of different plants and have interesting vernacular architecture. The only thing that’s missing in this place is some pieces of information. I’d suggest putting some texts, explaining what type of plants, or story about the constructions that can be seen during the walk.

This is a colorful church great for photo taking. The museum has a lot of information about the history and culture of ethiopia. Photos are not allowed inside. The house at the end is very basic. I didn’t go into the church and I am not sure if one is allowed. It’s a bit far from center but not a bad drive.

It was a nice weekend day trip to take from Addis Ababa. We visited a local cultural market of the Oromo people at the small town of Adadi (65 km south of Addis Ababa).

This small market is held twice a week - on Sundays and Thursdays. It is interesting to know locals gather at this market not only to buy and sell things. It has a social importance as well - friends meet each other, unmarried young people find their future life partner, and they share information on what is new around.

With this excursion, visitors can stop at a couple of outlooks to see the Rift Valley. Melka Kunture Prehistorical Site and Adadi Mariam Rock Church (13th Century AD) can be visited in a day from Addis Ababa.

    Enjoy your day tour!!

If you want to visit city museum or Red terror memorial museum, most probably you would see this square. I heard from a taxi driver, who brought us there that this place is not particularly safe, so have your belongings somehow protected.

Menelik II was a highly significant emperor in Ethiopian history. Under his leadership the Ethiopians defeated the invading Italians at the Battle of Adwa in 1895. His namesake, Menelik I was the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba and is believed by Ethiopians to have brought the Ark of the Covenant containing the Ten Commandments from Jerusalem to Axum (Ethiopia). Ethiopians believe it is still there. Inside, the artwork depicts important events in Ethiopian history. Unexpectedly, a group of giant tortoises reside in the immediate vicinity.
