What travellers are saying
- Kashyap DMumbai, India126 contributionsWe travelled to Ile Aux Cerfs as a part of our private speedboat ride with Oceane Cruises. We spent a couple of hours here. Clean, quiet and clam waters which allowed us to swim and snorkle. The entire area around was green and that made it pleasurable for us while we were there.
There are couple of restaurants with food which was expensively priced. You can either sit on the beach which is free or rent paid chairs.Written 19 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - slinkymomoLimassol City, Cyprus81 contributionsBeautiful and very well maintained park, well worth the entrance fees. Every thing was well sign posted, beautifully maintained - simply magical.Written 6 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Niclas SAachen, Germany8 contributionsThe water fall in combination with the Seven Coulored Earth is a must visit for all first time visitors in Mauritius.
A bit pricey, no need to go there a second time.
Best is to go when it's dry.Written 25 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - LizzzRSturminster Newton, UK33 contributionsNo shops, just restaurants and food. Beware - very expensive ice creams! The beach is perfect for children and the sand very soft. Taxis easy to find and close to Grand Baie.Written 19 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- uzmelissaDubai, United Arab Emirates142 contributionsLoved it! There was a special ceremony at there and I really liked the ambiance of the temple with it's crowd, no wearing rules, you don't need the take off your shoes, it should be the most relaxed Hindu temple 😀Written 18 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- amelieLondon, UK2 contributionsMy family and I had an absolutely lovely stay at the lux hotel however the highlight of our trip was the delightful meal we had at Viks Shack. The setting, food and host all together made for an amazing evening which made all of us appreciate the beauty of traditional creole food.Written 6 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rich2768Rayleigh, UK203 contributionsVisited one morning, was a nice place to wander round and browse some of the shops. Some nice places to stop for food and drink too.
Some building work still ongoing, will be lovely when finishedWritten 17 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Linda oGrimsby, UK40 contributionshad a really good time water so clear and warm clean really enjoyed snorkelling lots of fish and sea life tooWritten 20 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kris HSofia, Bulgaria730 contributionsMake sure you take the trip early morning on sober bases. We took off up the trail at 12 noon and nearly died, after a New Years Celebration. It takes about an hour to two, depending on how fit you are. Make sure you take enough water with you and are wearing comfortable hiking shoes. At the beginning of the trail you will find the Heritage Village, which is an interesting walk around the history of Mauritius.Written 18 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kamlesh BoodhooVieux Grand Port3 contributionsWe climbed Le pouce from Le Dauguet, it’s longer that staring from petit verger. It’s a constant climb from sea level up to 712 meters. At the summit you can magnificent views of Port Louis and the central region, Better use a guide if you choose this route. The descent was way except you have to be very careful if it rains as the pathway can be very slippery.Written 1 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- acornaVilnius, Lithuania4,372 contributionsI have a partiality for markets, so I try to visit them in every place I go. Central market at Port Louis is quite OK as markets go. It is clearly divided into two parts: one for locals, who are busy buying local produce and one for tourists – souvenir and spice stalls. Here prices are mostly ridiculous. I was already warned by a friendly taxi driver not to buy spices at the market, because same ones can be bought at shops and supermarkets three- to fivefold cheaper. Which is absolutely true. I asked for a price of a small souvenir, heard the price and laughed out loudly. Finally bargained to at least acceptable one. If you buy something - take care.Written 28 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Pia BHeikendorf, Germany2 contributionsJust as you can see on the pictures in the internet and totally as we imagined. Just as pretty as the beaches on the Maledives.Written 25 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Robert FTadley29 contributionsExcellent guided tour to an island with a number of huge tortoise and rare pink pigeon. About a 5 minute trip by boat across, which is included, and about 1 1/2 hrs on the island.Written 5 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- StotheNBesiktas, Turkey345 contributionsI went here yesterday and it was closed off for tourists/general public. I am told that the site is now protected and might be reworked for reopening in near future. A slice of Mauritian history.Written 31 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TadasKaunas County, Lithuania47 contributionsOne of the most beautiful beaches in all Mauritius. We were almost the only people in all the beach. The sand is white and clean, the water is crystal blue. What could you expect more. The only downside is that you can enter the beach in very few places. But when you are here - it is paradise.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
