Spending the morning with Kalpana and her children was one of the highlights of our trip! We enjoyed the opportunity to journey out to a family kitchen and join Kalpana in learning how to transform fresh, local ingredients to the local classics we had been enjoying throughout our trip. We absolutely left with both a richer understanding of the local Nepalese community as well as a comprehensive knowledge of how to replicate these tasty treats at home!

Three of us had a wonderful evening cooking, talking and eating with Shuhsma at her cooking class. Shushma was the perfect host - friendly, welcoming and very generous sharing her skill and knowledge about Nepali food, culture and history. The food we cooked was some of the best we ate during our 3 weeks in Nepal, and we look forward to sharing the food with friends when we return home. Many thanks!

My 2 friends and I were in the wonderful hands of our guides Anil and Pemba during our trek. While the trekking was tough at times, it took us through such beautiful areas. The tea houses we were booked in were nice tea houses and the food was good. I was a bit on the slow side and Pemba usually stayed back with me to make sure I was doing alright, which was nice, it made me feel like if something had gone wrong, I would have had someone to help me. The mountains all around us were some of the most amazing things I had ever seen. They make the Rockies seem small. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to see the Himalayas. When we got to Base Camp, I took some pictures, but then just sat there for a while looking at Everest and all the other huge mountains around me. I'm glad I took the time to just take it in.

In the evenings at the tea houses we had UNO parties happening. We taught our two guides, plus a guide from a different group, how to play UNO and it became such a fun thing to do. They got way into it, which made us all get way into it.

After we got back to Kathmandu, it was discovered during Covid testing to return home, that I had caught Covid on the trail. Dipak helped me take care of communication with the hotel and checked in on me every day until I was able to return home. Knowing I had Dipak keeping an eye on me made both me and my family back home feel better about the situation. Thanks for an awesome trip!

It was an amazing experience meeting this lovely nepali family in their own home for homemade food! We went to the market to buy the vegetables and got the opportunity to experience a real local market before hitting towards the house to share a moment together in the kitchen. The hosts were super friendly and we spent a great evening togheter. Best Dal Bhat in town!

We had a really good time there and they offered the course even just for two people! We cooked momos, dal bhat, ricepudding and a sweet festival bread! We can completely recommend the course. If you want an authentic course - this one had to be your choice!!

Just completed a 12 day trek with my 17 year old daughter. Starting from Syaphrubesi, first visiting Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Gompa followed by Sing Gompa and the very special Gosainkund. We descended to finish at Dunche. Our guide Himesh and porter Bharat were like family, so kind and caring, always going the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. We truly fave become friends over the past 12 days and I highly recommend their service and the service provided by Nepal Social Treks, five stars 👍.

My partner and our daughter love The Traveling Spoon - we had a fantastic experience last year in India so when we planned our trip to Nepal we knew we wanted to see if there were any opportunities to do a similar experience.

Due to timing, Pooja was not available so asked if it was ok for just her mom Manju to host us. Manju was so wonderful and we really enjoyed meeting her! We were welcomed into their home and visited for a bit before starting to cook together. My 12 year old daughter is homeschooled and a very experienced cook - Manju expertly taught us how to fry Mendu Vada (lentil donuts) and mix up aloo ko achar (spicy potato salad). She had made a bunch of other tasty dishes ahead of time and we had a wonderful lunch together.
