Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Goldarina HMelbourne, Australia3 contributionsWe got lost in the maze of stalls, hunting for home decor. The bustling crowds were overwhelming, but we did snag some unique finds. It's a market that's as exhausting as it is exciting. Not sure if we'd go again, but it's definitely a Bangkok must-do for the adventurous couple.Written 17 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dave HDún Laoghaire, Ireland67 contributionsQuite the experience. Many many stalls with lots of amazing products at very reasonable prices. But Macy’s it ain’t! Be prepared for lively and lovely people working very hard to make a saleWritten 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveller 1984Bangkok, Thailand21 contributionsLots of people.
It is only operated on weekends and public holidays.
Good food stalls and prices are moderate.
Recommend to take a boat tour.

Food options were varied and delicious, and there were some decent clothes stalls. There were also some vintage/thrift stores towards the back of the market that were good for rooting around and a small selection of vintage cars for photo opps.Written 7 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BeaSydney, Australia2,575 contributionsI am staying on the other side of Silom Road so I thought I’d check out the night markets for food. Prices are not low, you would find cheaper in a cleaner food court. Lots of fake bags, hats, clothes, shoes, whatever designer you want they probably have a fake version. Starts on Silom Rd and backs into the other side opposite Le Meridien. There’s plenty of ping pong shows and bikini dressed girls dancing in clubs luring in all the tourists. Not a place for kids to view as their doors are wide open. As a female solo traveller, I found the bars seedy and tasteless. There are better street food vendors along Park Silom with low prices and delicious food.Written 18 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jon LajomManila, Philippines217 contributionsWe came for the New Year 2025 Countdown and was surprised as we enter Sooksiam and experienced the magical taste of Thai food. Lots of food shop offer a wide variety of Thai delicacies and souvenirs. We enjoyed our Food Trip and tried exotic and non-exotic food.Written 3 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 991cookieLiverpool, UK139 contributionsVibrant night market with plenty of food options and stalls, and a nice chilled bar area to relax and have a drink (if you can get a seat).
Toilet situation lets the venue down slightly, you have to pay to use them and pay again for a small pack of tissues if you need that, but the cleanliness of them doesn’t represent the payment like other toilets throughout Bangkok.
Close to a metro station if you are using public transport and plenty of tuktuks waiting outside if you prefer that to travel home.Written 15 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil H20 contributionsWe took a driver (no guide) to visit the floating markets and the railway markets.
This ended up being a good if little disappointing day out. It’s definitely further than you think and the hour and a bit promised was nearer 2hrs to get there.
The boats are priced per person not per boat and for a family of 5 therefore expensive.
They choose which market stalls to two you to and the price of the (very standard) fare is significantly more expensive than any other market but the chosen enjoyed the experience. This is a way of life that has obviously died out (you pass a Costco on the way) and is therefore kept alive just for tourists. The water quality is poor and other than a glimpse of a kingfisher absolutely no wildlife at all. The waterways are mostly quiet but on the main ‘street’ it was very busy and the air quality from all the engines very poor indeed.
Probably not worth it with some dubious animal (exploration) add ons that we declined.
The railway market was worth a visit on the way home and everyone was waving to the passengers as the train came and stalls were rolled up. Not worth a visit on its own but broke up the journey home.
Probably should have passed on this but the kids had an ok day out.Written 10 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Too large to cover completely, but take a stroll through a corner and you get the impression. The place is chaotic: not just in the aisles but also on the tables. We later saw fresh food markets in other places that were nearly organized!Written 9 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The World is My OysterOrlando, FL21,764 contributionsStopped there after our Klong boat tour of the floating village and enjoyed the smells all around. - Matvl5,718 contributionsThis market has 8 or 9 food stalls, just off the road with a decent amount of seating. Not a huge food market, but does the job with a few nice options.Written 21 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
