- Lorraine WBromley, UK45 contributionsTrain experience and floating market was brilliant. Although a very early start (pick up at 5.50am) it was worth it.
The train journey starts at the first station and you are on the train for about an hour. This is the only part that was a bit long. When you get to ‘train street’ it’s a great experience not only arriving on the train so close to pedestrians but also watching the train pull out from the station.
Floating market is about 15 minute drive from train street. It was very busy but you get a chance to look round before / after getting on the boat. Also you are not hassled to buy anything from the river vendors which is good.
You then get the bus back to Bangkok which is about 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic and are dropped off at MBK Center so perfect for some shopping! It has a large area and the upper deck is very comfortable, there were two bands , both good and. a Thai performance.
The food was okay with a lot of choices .

- David F2 contributionsWe decided to go with a food tour during our last day in Bangkok. Our guide Sophie speak fluent English and very friendly. She taught us about foods at each stop and also some basic Thai language to communicate with the vendors. The Tuk Tuk drivers are great and efficient during the tour. The tour is well organize and foods are good. Food is not so fantastic but ok. I prefer rooftop seating. They have live band too. Its a new experiences for them. and I almost missed the last train. If I could go back, I would choose another company and avoid ICONSIAM pier even if I had to pay extra. - Jade OLondon, UK7 contributionsGreat food tour with Sophie last night. We were lucky enough to be the only two people on the tour so it felt like a private one just for us! Made several stops and ate lots of delicious Thai food. The Tom yum shrimp was our favourite! Sophie was very knowledgable and told us all about the history of Bangkok as well as the food. - Paige SEast Dundee, IL22 contributionsWe were in Bangkok for two nights and decided to do this cruise over the other ones because it felt more intimate. Let me tell you this was fantastic!! The service and food was excellent and informative. The other cruise lines are very crowded and a buffet style while the Aspara was very personable and a preset menu. I would HIGHLY recommend this over other dinner cruises. We ended the night with a complimentary photo at one of the temples along the river. She took the time to figure out our taste preferences and determine how adventurous we are. Based on that she lead us on a tasteful (pun intended) tour. She has detailed knowledge of the foods and was happy to share. We had a chicken curry and she pointed out the hint of cinnamon in the meat. The downside to the tour is that you get too much food to eat and end up leaving some on the plate.
