Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The grounds are beautiful and have a serene feel. There are worshiping areas with other Buddha statues where you can light incense and pray. Also, outside the main building, there are really big gongs that you can play. We made all of them ‘sing’. There is also a gift shop where we bought several lovely souvenirs. Green cloth bags are at the entrance door to put your shoes in because you have to take them off. There was a repeating announcement to be careful with your belongings due to pick pockets.

Once inside, we were in awe of this amazing, huge Buddha! Gold plated and peacefully resting on his side. His toes were massive too! There was a constant flow of people so snapping a picture had to be done quickly. On the way out, we bought the coins to drop into each of the bowls for good luck.

We really enjoyed seeing this beautiful temple!

Rising on the opposite side of Chao Praya river, across the Royal Palace and the Reclining Buddha Temple, Wat Arun is truly a Bangkok landmark. It derives its name from the Hindu God of Dawn - Arun.
It is one of the oldest temples in Siam capital dating back to 17c. Rama II expanded it in 19c building the famous huge 80m high stupa in 19c. It's totally covered in Chinese porcelain and glass, glittering in the sun.
You can easily reach it from the Palace and Reclining Buddha side taking the 5 min ferry costing only 5 Baht. Once there be prepared for huge crowds, however it's a must in Bangkok.

This temple is jaw dropping, in a complex that is unlike anything I’ve seen. There is the most incredible ornate detail in a setting that is indescribable. It’s a must see when in Bangkok

We had a wonderful day touring the Grand Palace, Golden Buddha and other beautiful sites. Our guide was very informative as she shared the traditions and culture of the Thai people as we travelled throughout Bangkok via Tuk Tuk, ferry boat, and MRT. She also arranged for a Thai cooking class. Unforgettable memories were created for which we will be forever grateful.

There is a B100 entry fee here. We walked up to the top and enjoyed seeing the views over Bangkok. The temple is nice from the top where you see the gold pointing into the sky.

Impressive temple outside the main city area with a gigantic gold Buddha statue. (The buddha is under renovation at present so please check before making the journey) It’s a little far from the main part of the city. In certain locations of the temple, you must remove your footwear.

There are 5 floors with numerous relics, on the 5th floor there is a beautiful Emerald Stupa Pagoda.

It’s a popular stopover on the canal with boat tours. It’s less busy in the early morning on weekdays.
There is a museum within the location with many beautiful artefacts.

The Erawan shrine is a small shrine directly located at the Grand Hyatt hotel. I used to see this place while walking on the sky bridge between my hotel and Central of the World Mall. I enjoyed watching prayer and worship and some girls dancing, especially in the evening, during my last days in Bangkok.

If you don’t mind the spiral stairs, the long walk up has an amazing view of Bangkok and its surrounding buildings. The temple itself is a little spacey.

We walked past here from MRT Sam Yot to our hotel. Came back next day and enjoyed seeing a service underway. Impressive giant Buddha to see. Foreigners pay B100 entry.

Wow. This was a totally unexpected find. I didn't really know anything about this temple beforehand, I simply was walking around having an explore when I saw this golden jewel in the sky.

Wat Bowonniwet is a striking golden colored temple that really stands out. With bell shaped spirals this is one of the unique Bangkok temples.

It's not too big but still makes for an interesting exploration. With nice architecture, detailed statues, and lots of alters and structures to look around.

It can become very bright here with the reflection of the sunlight, so be careful of your eyes

The size of the Buddha is astounding! A beautiful temple precinct, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We found it easy to get to from Wutthakat Sky Train station, walking through back streets where we passed other temples along the way. We found a different way back along a main road. Definitely worth doing.

Walking through the city, out of curiosity I followed a couple people through the open gates to the forest area for locals past the more touristy temple. This was amazingly calming and friendly; it’s welcoming, free, and there are bathrooms too! They also seem to host motorcycle parking for a low fee. Amazing place with incredible vibe.

It was really solemn and beautiful, with several temples in the area. As I have read, there are offerings that you may purchase.
