There is a dress code - we saw many tourists being turned away or had to buy shirts and long trousers to cover their shoulders and legs. To see The Emerald Buddha you must remove your shoes, no photography by the Emerald Buddha is allowed.
Beautiful architecture and rich history make it a must-visit. We saw many tour guides touting outside. It was a Saturday morning and the locals were out doing the Tai Chi, there was a reading club and a lovely local choir group. The usual retail brands are present but what I loved is the Tokyo floor for the cute fashion stalls. Needless to say I ended up shopping a lot on this floor! It is very very busy but there is a nice supermarket (Dear Tummy) where I got some spices. I had dinner the second time - nice crispy pork wonton noodle dish.
