Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Coyote-TravelerzJacksonville, FL2,675 contributionsThe statue looms over the square, presenting a regal portrait of a famous man. A walk around the monument and plaza is very pleasant. On the weekends there are vendors and kids playing around it.Written 15 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - betteskidBoston, MA1,327 contributionsThe memorial is a small structure by Truc Bach Lake, the lake where McCain came down and was captured during the Vietnam war, beginning his long ordeal. I was moved to see this and it can be done easily and doesn't take long. Although my political views did not mesh with his, I have always had a deep respect for his service to the United States and I am very glad I got to see this memorial.Written 9 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lori MCalifornia1,992 contributionsit was fairly unusual to see a statue such as this, one of the most important figures in the history of communism. it's very well done, he looks stately and confident. it's in a nice park across from a beautiful flag tower. we saw it on our way to the HCM Mausoleum. it's a cool statue but really, it's just a statue. snap a pic and you're done!Written 12 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - andy gTamworth, UK28 contributionsA hidden monument located on the edge of the lake. Well worth a slight detour to view if walking by the lake. Not really worth a special trip to visit.Written 8 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David BRayong, Thailand9,493 contributionsNgo Quyen was born in Duong Lam, about 60 km north of Hanoi.
He entered the army and quickly rose through the ranks and in 934 AD he cunningly defeated the Chinese overlords at the famed Battle of Bach Dang, He placed sharp bamboo poles in the mouth of the river, then sent his small boats out to entice the Chinese fleet to chase them. The small boats navigated the booby traps, but the Chinese ships were impaled on the stakes.
This victory paved the way for the independence of Annam (which was to become part of the future Vietnam).
Ngo Quye was made king and established the Ngo Dynasty, which many consider to be the first Vietnamese dynasty.
On a day trip to Duong Lam Ancient Village we took to bicycles to ride through rice padi to visit the Ngo Quyen Temple built in his honour, and a little further visited his tomb, which sits on a small rise overlooking a lake.Written 1 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
