Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels was a sobering reminder of the war's impact. The resilience and ingenuity displayed there were truly humbling.

This is a fabulous building teeming with tourists. You can see amazing architecture and decorations. Buy a postcard, check out the time in other countries and shop for some local gifts. It was worth a visit but won't take long.

The independence palace was a great visit, I enjoyed the history, the information available and the set up of the various rooms. Well furnished, some beautiful art work, and well maintained grounds to walk around.

My first skyscraper, lovely experience. You can arrive until the 49th floor with a very little cost. I suggest to visit it around sunset, all the commercial area and the skyscrapers around will sparkle of lights. The view is at 360° over the town, unfortunately the reflection of the internal lights troubles the pictures and you need to writhe in order to find the right spot.

Maybe you should swot up on the local history before you visit. It is a place of great importance for Vietnam and its past. Lots of restaurants nearby and just 300 meters from the theatre where the AO show incase you want to combine the visit.

Went there for dinner, on average you’ll spend about VND125,000 per person or approximately seven Australian dollars, and you will be full as a goog, about 40 different stalls to choose from. Everything appeared clean, so if you’ve not been to Vietnam before, it’s probably a good place to start if you’re a bit suss, or have a young family. Beers are about AUD1.50 each. Note that on Google Maps the location Ben Nghe Food market is incorrect but…it is only approximately 200 m from where it is shown on Google Maps. Look on Google Maps for Ben Thanh Street Food Market, it is the same thing. Hope this helps. Interesting pics in the gents…(see photos).

This is the main walking street stretching from the People's Committee (former French City Hall) all the way down to Saigon river promenade.
During the day it's very average, but it comes alive at night with many street food vendors, street performers and thousands of locals hanging out.

Buy Vien street is sheer insanity. Think Las Vegas but just in a way more condensed area. Think La Placita if you have ever been to Puerto Rico.... yeah that's the perfect comparison.

We walked by here a couple times during the day, and it's just nasty ahahahah but this place isn't made for the day. Nobody should see this place during the day.....

If you want to go out at night and get ACTIVE, this is the place. Strips of bars BLASTING music with their doors wide open to the street, lights flashing in every direction, live music, ladies provocatively dancing on pedestals outside of bars, guys trying to sell you literally every drug under the sun and then some (allegedly).

It's so overstimulating and pretty godless, but I know some of y'all love that......... Couldn't be me...........

Found this gem from local student tour called Saigon Hotpot. Need a tour guild to explain all the back ground and get the best experience.

I usually rate such streets as average (3 stars), because they're present in every city in the world. It's a classic shopping street with mainly haute couture shops, luxury hotels,..etc
However, here in HCMC I raised to 4 stars, due to unusual mixture of French colonial legacy mixed with Vietnam hustle and bustle, topped with some ultra modern steel and glass high rises around. Interesting to walk through down to Saigon river.

This pagoda has places to worship Buddha, Confucius and also Tao religion. It was interesting to see the three different areas. There is an area that shows what hell will be like for people who behave badly. It took us about half an hour with our guide to see this site

One of the hidden gems of Ho Chi Minh and you won't miss this place as it is close by to the Central Post Office (it's just directly next to it).
There are various types of books although mainly in Vietnamese language.

This attraction is a short walk from the Saigon Notre Dame Museum. about 5-7minutes away. Along the way are huge pots with beautiful flowering plants. Public access to this government building is not allowed. Its exteriors are beautiful, with intricate moldings and designs.

Took several photos here before going to the Garden across from it

As others have said, the church is under repair which is a shame, but worth a visit, set in central location. Post office is nearby.
