A disturbing day visiting S21 and the killing fields. Harrowing to think that this happened not so long ago and many of the perpetrators are still alive. A must visit if in PP. Spend the money on the Audio tour- it’s worth every penny. A pleasure to meet one of the few survivors.

Took a grab taxi and asked him to stay whilst we visited. Good idea to combine S21 with killing fields in one day. About 45 minute journey out of PP. A must visit despite it being a harrowing experience. Real shame that there doesn’t seem to be an audio tour anymore, despite there being signage for stops on such a tour. And no tour guides around to engage unfortunately. However it’s very clear what happened here and very depressing to see the mass graves, skulls and killing tree.

At the time of my visit, unfortunately, the premises were not accessible to visitors due to Covid restrictions. The palace from outside, overlooking the main square, is elegant and picturesque, with lots of photo shooting opportunities.

Easy to get to, it's just a short walk from the top end of the city.
Plenty of shaded areas to sit and people watch. A buddhist temple at the top of the hill. Worth a visit.

It is a really beautiful temple. The floor is made of silver. There is blankets over most of it, which is a shame.

Contains a lot of different historical objects from around Cambodia. There are a couple plaques to help contextualize the significance of certain pieces, but for the most part it's a self guided experience without the audio guide.

I wish the attendant had mentioned the availability of a guide beforehand, as I found myself breezing through the museum in a little under an hour without the historical background.

May be a good rainy day activity to burn an hour or two, as there weren't too many standout exhibits in my opinion.

This was a first day activity for our group. Something about the bustling of patrons and just immense amount of activity and energy is really cool to see. I think the food market portion is probably the most interesting to walk around since this is where you can find locals selling and buying goods.

The thing is with the rest of the market is that the stalls are mainly selling cheap and knockoff stuff that while I'm sure not at all expensive to purchase, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to buy. I did buy a t-shirt for $5 bucks and didn't have to barter much with the shop owner (shirt was at least made in Cambodia so I did have that going for me).

Again I wouldn't recommend doing any serious shopping here. Even as a tourist I think you can probably find better souvenirs at the "Amazing Cambodia" store or even some stalls at the Russian Market.

My advice: grab a coffee or drink from one of the stalls and just take in the sights, sounds and smells from the market for an hour. Sure beats trying to haggle down the price of some cheap thing you can no doubt get elsewhere.

Really beautiful items for sale and wonderful to know money goes to such a wonderful cause. The shop sells things made by the women they help free from the sex trafficking industry and they are really beautiful. Definitely recommend a stop buy to support such an amazing organisation.

I spent my summer working in Phnom Penh and found myself consistently coming back to the bars around Bassac Lane as opposed to Sisowath Quay (Riverside). Cleaner, less (outright) touristy and no one heckling you for a drink or massage as you walk by.

Much more pedestrian friendly especially the side alley with plenty of bars and eateries to choose from. I personally enjoyed Mama Wong's, Piccolo Italia da Luigi and Elia Greek Kitchen for dinners and recommend The Library, Welsh Embassy, and Backstreet Bar for the bar scene.

Prices vary depending on the bar / restaurant and while it does seem to be geared more towards tourists there always was a decent blend of Westerners, Asian tourists and locals alike, which is always a good sign in my opinion.

Multiple locals told me I had to visit the Russian Market during my stay in Phnom Penh, and even though I had already been to the Central Market and Night Market, I decided to give it a shot.

One thing that you need to know before going here is that this market is pretty tight-quarters. Do not go if you are a claustrophobic person. It's also closed-air which means it gets pretty hot during the day and also traps all the different scents and aromas in one place (put on my mask as it just wasn't a pleasant smell in some areas).

I will say there is a ton of different things and sections to browse, only problem is that most of the stuff sold is knock off or cheap Chinese stuff. I bought Angkor Beer and Tiger Beer shirts for 8 bucks together, but other than that nothing really caught my attention.

Ultimately I think the Central Market is more pleasant to walk around, and the Night Market's close proximity to Riverside also makes it a better bet as well.

As all parks and green spaces have been turned into construction sited the Riverside is the only space to enjoy a nice walk without being run over by motorbikes or luxury cars.

It’s a big mall with many well known brands, a big food court, Aeon department store and even a cinema. I liked a small shop on the second floor, Amazing Cambodia, that had specially selected gifts that were iconic for this lovely country - Pepper seeds, teas, candles, silks and more.

Nice place to visit, small place . It just took us around 15 min to cover the ground. Not crowded with tourist and locals as Covid-19 was spreading everywhere around the world.
