Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- S P3 contributionsNice shops, bars and restaurants are there. But I felt that all are formal rather than live and buzzing happy go lucky atmosphere is missing.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sonia N304 contributionsQuite crowded and noisy.
The hot mocha was good. Not very impressed with the sandwich. - Mel MMalta261 contributionsPlenty of shops, the more interesting are on the first floor. The second floor is mostly clothes and then floors 3+ are furniture shops.
Good selection of items, even for a tourist. Don't necessarily go just for this, but if you're in the area then why notWritten 23 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Arcade mall on one side, a completely colonial style building with a few high end stores, was almost deserted on a Saturday. There were a few families in the independence square who were jogging, exercising, walking and kids were playing. Do visit if you have time, nothing spectacular !Written 21 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndrewPhnom Penh, Cambodia605 contributionsIf your hotel is close by and you’re looking for a supermarket, there’s a great Keell’s on the lower ground floor. The rest of the mall is pretty neat with some nice stores including a small branch of Luv SL. One of the better malls in the area and not crammed full of high-end branded stores selling stuff you can’t possibly afford.Written 23 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's nice to have a Sri Lankian cloth as a memory from our trip, but also it is nice that it will be worn with pleasure!Written 19 June 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kinamachanColombo, Sri Lanka5 contributionsNastars has never let me down! Perhaps this is why it's my first go-to shop to get gifts and or even pamper myself a little for entertainment value. One can find rare and exciting products for a variety of activities ranging from movies, gaming, scouting, memorabilia, etc. not to mention gifts for all age groups. The staff are super friendly too and even more helpful. They've always help me find the perfect gift/product that caters to my specific needs. Keep up the awesome work Nastars!Written 16 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- maninasuitcase1905Europe442 contributionsThis is a beautiful location on the old racecourse ground with interesting architecture and a nice place to wander about around the grounds.
The shopping mall is offering high end brands, to be fair I went on a Sunday afternoon and many of the outlets were closed so did not get a full view what was on offer.
I think it is early days as everything seemed new - but worth a visit nice peaceful part of Colombo.Written 4 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This gemstone store is a true gem itself, offering an exceptional selection of high-quality stones sourced from Sri Lanka, known for its world-class sapphires, rubies, and moonstones. Each piece reflects the natural beauty and craftsmanship that make Sri Lankan gems so sought after.
The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, guiding me through the selection process with patience and expertise. They explained the unique qualities of the Ceylon gams, ensuring I made an informed choice that perfectly suited my preferences.
The store provides authentic certification for every gemstone, which adds a layer of trust and transparency. The prices are fair, reflecting the superior quality and rarity of the stones.
