I sent an email to Kingfisher Tours and they immediately responded- answered questions and booked the tour at a very reasonable price. Our wonderful driver picked us up at our hotel at 7am and drove us around for 12 hours. We booked the tour just for the white water rafting, but the company suggested also stopping at a natural spice garden and to an elephant activity place. We were not charged any additional money for these stops (which probably added 5 hours to the day) and only had to pay for admission for the elephant activity- included a photo of our girls who got to ride and get sprayed by the elephants. The white water rafting was fun and we had an extremely friendly local guide with us for the scenic ride down the Kitulgala River- even got a short ride in their TukTuk to get to the river. During March, the rapids are not very high so this was a very easy beginners' course for our two daughters. The scenic views along the river were awesome! I can't thank our driver enough for his patience throughout the 12-hour day and for safely driving the streets of Sri Lanka (which I would not want to do). - Sophia R2 contributionsWe had a really nice trip to Kandy! Our tour guide, Aaron, set up a tour of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth relic which was very informative. We also had a tour of a tea factory complete with tea tasting! And we made an impromptu stop at an elephant sanctuary. We had a really wonderful day thanks fo Apple Vacation and Aaron! - Rod WMelbourne, Australia84 contributionsTuk Tu Safari is a MUST DO for those with little time to see Colombo. As a solo traveller, weaving my way through the city's notable attractions by tuk tuk was easy, fun and safe (and I'm sure couples and small groups would also have a great time). Pradeep and his colleague were great tour guides and while their business is still recovering from the impacts of the pandemic, I was made full aware of the little things that weren't yet available ie. the safari uniforms, branded tuk tuks, etc. A morning coffee at a local roaster was a great way to start the day. Temples and a fresh juice and fruit followed. Then came the markets and an impromptu stop at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground where we snuck onto the ground. The tour finished with a traditional Sri Lankan lunch at a local cafe along the beachfront. I couldn't have asked for more. . .but I did, and the guys took me back the the market for more more photos before dropping me off at my hotel. Brilliant. Service above and beyond. I can only recommend it to everyone because I was really cared for and I got see such beautiful places including a natural with many elephants but very few vehicles. - Ahmad M1 contributionMy visit to Sri Lanka last week to Sigiriya was one of the best tours which gave me a lifetime experience, I must say all in one package. It's been an Archeological trip, an adventurous tour, nature loving and peculiar sight seeing and what not. I adored each and every minute of my Sigiriya stay. Best part being with taking part in day to day activities of Sri Lankan farmers very friendly explained everything smiling with whole lot of patience. I even harvested their produce, and holding the sickle gave me goosebumps. We started by booking a whale watching day but ended up using Kingfisher for most of our transfers as well. They were happy to help with all parts of our itinerary and the cars, drivers etc were all super high quality and very comfortable. - Lech B.Kowalski, LLMWarsaw, Poland331 contributionsI have hired an experienced driver from Galle, for full day excursion trip to Ella and almost half a day stay for Safari tour at Udawalawa. The most important at this National Park is to see living free, many kind of animals. There are over 350 Elephants, from which some are angry and hostile towards the visitors. At one place I have felt unsave, as I had noticed, the attack is imminent at any moment. Luckily, the biggest male Elephant, has stopped his charge towards my vehicle at the distance of 10 mtrs. Further on the road to Ella, I have seen few Elephants which escaped Park boundary, collecting the food from local people and from the people travelling in both directions by cars and the buses. These Elephants are intelligent enough, living in the harmony with the people, and eventually return to National Park terrain. - BM-AUS7 contributionsSriLanka is a country of wonder and amazement, From the ever changing landscapes, wild animals and the delicious food. It is a country that has something for everyone. From originally booking our trip in 2019 Hellow Travel went above and beyond to assistance us rebooking our holiday in 2022. They ensured we had a memorable adventure with high quality hotels, car and even supported the purchase of a car seat to accommodate our six year old daughter. - Ian Ng4 contributionsWe have engaged Beyond Escapes for our Yala Tour and it was fantastic! Not only did we manage to see numerous wild animals in the safari, the experience to stay in a tree house is great!
Separately, I would like to compliment our driver, Mr Kumara, who fetched us from Mirissa to Yala Park stay, and the next day to Nuwara Eliya. (Note that Safari has its own and another driver.) Although, Mr Kumara wasn’t the main Safari guide, he went the extra mile and showed us around and dropped us at some spots around our journey to take nice photos as a guide! 2 thumbs up for him!
