- Nomad310741316981 contributionThe safari was great, we got to see so many animals and all of Sri Lanka’s 5 big ones!! It is a long day, we were picked up from our Colombo hotel at 4am and dropped back off at nearly 10pm, but it is an adventure and made quite enjoyable by the super lovely staff. Our driver went to lengths to make sure we saw as much as possible for the day. However always bear in mind that there is no guarantee of seeing specific animals, and always a degree of luck. The natural beauty of the country is incredible and the most important asset of it, the people were always friendly, smiling and welcoming. Our guide/driver Gayan made the trip enjoyable and safe. He was always eager to answer all our questions and he was always patient with us. Booked trip to Yala and from the booking to return to hotel everything was great. Clear details provided, name of driver , car details provided evening before, Driver to Yala was great, lunch was much better than expected, 3 courses with choices, i went for the Sri Lankan curry which was very good. Yala was amazing, our safari driver was very good and we were lucky enough to see a leopard, and the elephants having fun at the watering hole was a great experience. Sigiriya was an excellent experience, so beautiful and loved the ascent!! The most unique aspect of this tour was visiting the village Kayanwela where we were hosted by Erandi & Kumuduni (mother & daughter) for a farm-to-table lunch. The food was excellent, gourmet!!! - Jana Z21 contributionsOur tour to Kandy started at 5am at our hotel in Induruwa. On our way to Kandy we visited Milennial elephant foundation - $ 15 per person, we could watch and feed the elephants, it was nice.
Then we went to Kendy Botanical garden, it was great, but we only had an hour here. There were monkeys everywhere that were used to people.
Visiting the temple was an amazing experience, our guide was great.
After that, we were at gen museum and some woodcarving, we didn't know it was on the itinerary and it was quite boring. In the same building was lunch and that was good bufet.
Highlight of the tour after that was visit of tea garden and factory, lady there learned us a lot and we also bought a lot of tea for a great price.

He expertly arranged all of our transportation needs in Sri Lanka and organized a fantastic full-day tour to the breathtaking Sigiriya. I cannot express enough how satisfied we are with the experience. - CornasdfSevenoaks, UK17 contributionsGreat trip. This was the only one I saw that offered both the sites (Dambulla,Sigiriya) and elephants (safari).
It is a packed day with many hours in the car but we were able to hustle and do all 3. No leisure time but well worth it to be able to do it all. The hike to the top of the sigiriya mountain is a bit more than 30 mins if you push it (think climbing (think climbing an 80 story stairwell). We were luck to see a heard of 20 or so elephants reasonably quickly. Both were fantastic. If you are concerned about time the Dambulla cave was the one I would drop to spend more time at sigiriya.
I was a solo traveller. I was paired up with one other traveller ( English speaker.)
Tour operator was very good. Good communication on whatsapp and accommodating to last minute booking.
