Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- RuthyGlasgowGlasgow862 contributionsThe nicest thing about here was that the temple is on the lake and with the statues around it, our photographs were good with the city high buildings in the background. The pond lilies were beautiful. Did not spend too much time here as on a whistle stop tour of Colombo.Written 29 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LolaGo1Washington DC, DC6,624 contributionsLocated near the Lotus Tower, we visited this Hindu Temple next. Like any Hidu temples, we were asked to take off our shoes as soon as we entered the compound. I thought we would only take off our shoes when we enter inside the temples.
We hurriedly took some pictures here and left. The ground is rough and hot for us to take off our shoes outside of the temples.Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AppetitesindiaMumbai, India573 contributionsWhile exploring the vibrant streets of Pettah, we visited the stunning mosque we’d heard so much about. The architecture is breathtaking, showcasing intricate designs and vibrant colors. The serene atmosphere inside is perfect for offering prayers and experiencing a moment of peace amidst the bustling market. Observing the locals perform Namaz was a humbling and enriching experience. This mosque is not just a place of worship but also a testament to the rich cultural and architectural heritage of Colombo. A must-visit for anyone interested in spirituality and beautiful architecture!Written 27 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LolaGo1Washington DC, DC6,624 contributionsHaving visited several religous sites during the TukTuk Tour and alreay feeling hot and tired,
I was turned off when sevral staff approached us as we got off our tuktuk. They insisted that we take off our shoes as we walked towards the temples. The ground was hot and I did not feel like walking barefoot all the way to the entrance of the temples and their interiors.
I briefly took pictures of the exteriors of the temples, the gate, etc. and left in a hurry. Perhaps, I’ll visit it again in the early morning and set my mind about walking barefoot. May be NOT.Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Fascinating ‘tropical modernist’ architect and beautiful home- in shades of black and white, with furniture and art/pieces from around the world. Helpful (and required) tour- learned so much about a man and architect I knew little about. Would definitely recommend.Written 24 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jessica C3 contributionsWe decided on coming to Sri Lanka as part of our honeymoon and because here the wheel is on the right (the opposite as in our country), we decided to contact a car rental company with a driver. We found Driver Hire on Google and we chose it because it had the biggest number of reviews and the highest ones.
Before coming here, we were actually wondering how it would be like to have some other person with us on our trip because usually it’s just me and my husband.
We arrived in the airport in Negombo where Rishan, our driver, greeted us with flowers.
From the very first moment we had a good feeling about him and we were so right!
Because now, as our holiday has come to an end and we are packing our bags to go home, I can truly say that this was the most amazing experience and I’m sure it wouldn’t have been the same without Rishan.
We felt really safe with him. He is really kind & has a good sense of humor. Also, he listened to each and every one of our needs and respected our trip plan, but also showed us some of the really good places that only the locals know about. So my advice is to simply trust him!
I haven’t met the other drivers in the company but I bet Rishan is the best one.
So consider yourself really lucky if he will be the one guiding you throughout beautiful Sri Lanka!
We will definitely be coming back, as we also have a friend here now. Thank you Rishan for joining us on our adventure!Written 10 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kamal PByron Bay, Australia9,512 contributionsAway from the congested metropolis "The Factory Outlet" is at a convenient place to look for ready-made garments. With ample parking the store has a vast display of cloths for an entire family. Men's section was in the upstairs while women and children cloths were found in the downstairs together with loads of other accessories catering to different tastes. I found several cargo shorts which fitted me well and within my budget. Service was very courteous with many helpers around to assist.Written 26 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mel MMalta258 contributionsPlenty of shops, the more interesting are on the first floor. The second floor is mostly clothes and then floors 3+ are furniture shops.
Good selection of items, even for a tourist. Don't necessarily go just for this, but if you're in the area then why notWritten 23 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
