Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a must visit in Colombo for us. The tours are small and the guides very well informed, some of them having spent time with Mr Bawa before he passed away. It appears as though everything was left in place since that time. This is a charming and eclectic home that gives insight into the mind of Mr Bawa.

Although the tour confirmation suggested we could pay in USD it appeared this was not the case when we arrived - just FYI. We paid in SLR.

After visiting the Khan Clock Tower, we saw this stupa as we drove by. We briefly stopped here and take some pictures. The distancw between these 2 attractions is about 5 minute drive. Not sure whetjer they are open to to the public and where the entrances are located, we left after lur brief visit.

My stay at Sri Lanka was better than ever! The tour guide took us to beautiful and cultural places where we learned so much about Sri Lanka. Not only was the tour guide great but the driver had some talent parking the van 😂. Overall, I could not have asked for more make sure you check him out before you visit have fun!

An incredible experience visiting Qudsi this afternoon, Fazal was friendly, informative and made the experience delightful. The prices were incredible and pieces were stunning. I will no doubt be visiting again and would recommend a visit to anyone looking to buy jewellery in Colombo!

A massage shop in Colombo where you can get shiatsu massages.
It's located at the end of a narrow alley, and although the entrance is small, the interior has depth with high ceilings, creating a spacious atmosphere.
It's like a quiet and relaxing urban oasis that we could forget the hustle and bustle of Colombo.
I got a massage on the large sofa on the second floor. It was just the right balance of pressure, not too painful nor too weak. With the breeze from the fan and the chirping of birds adding to the atmosphere, it felt so pleasant that I ended up falling asleep.
Mr. Ishikawa, the owner, has been addressing social issues in Sri Lanka for over 20 years. He kindly assisted with arranging taxis and offered to help us.
I recommend this place to everyone who want to relieve travel fatigue, seek a quiet space for a change of pace, or even Japanese travelers in any trouble lol.
This place is a locally rooted massage shop that doesn't feel overly polished for tourists, allowing us to truly experience that we are visiting South Asia.
    Thank you!

Wonderful service and beautiful jewellery. My ring was made in 3 days and hand delivered to me. The staff member caught a bus 3 hours away, as we were with a tour group. I chose the stone (pink sapphire) and then it was designed and made. Photo does not do it justice.

Five of us visited Srilanka that was organized by Lanka Safe Tours (LST) with excellent driver Malith from 9 to 15 April 2024. We asked to organised to visit specifically historical and cultural sits. LST prepared 3 different questions with different hotels. Very reasonable price for us with including travel, accommodations, breakfast and dinner in great four-star hotels. Picked up at airport to take all different places with friendly patient driver Malith. We like very much his accompany and LST arrangement.

I toured Buddhist ruins with my mother for 10 days.
At first, I was very worried about renting a car and traveling by myself, but I decided to get help as i was not confident enough to travel to the northern regions such as Jaffna and Nagadeepa.
Ms Sharon was very professional and warmly helpful from beginning to end, always reliable and reassuring. It was my first time traveling to Sri Lanka, so I had a lot of questions before the trip, and she always gave friendly and quick answers.
And the guide, Mr. Darshana, who was with us, always showed up earlier than the scheduled time from the first meeting to the last day, and took special care to avoid any danger. So I always felt reassured .
I was really happy to be able to go to Adams Bridge, where all myths, legends, and history meet. And I can't forget a day in Polonnaruwa, where we were greeted by a cute and wonderful lake and playful monkeys.
If I had driven it myself, I am sure I would have been exhausted and not been able to enjoy the trip properly.
Sri Lanka is a pearl-like country with a brilliant history of over 2,500 years. I think the current situation in Sri Lanka is just a temporary long vacation period. I have no doubt that one day it will transform into a powerful country that no one can stop. I would like to thank all the Sri Lankans who were so kind and friendly. Bye~

Beauty Lanka Travels and our tour guide / driver Ranga were outstanding. We had booked 7 day 6 night private tour with Beauty Lanka Tours 31 Mar - 6 April and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Every step of the way, Malintha from Beauty Lanka travels was professional in planning the tour and answering our queries. The highlight was our tour guide Ranga who was brilliant in every way, happily picking us up from the airport, always taking good care of us, practicing safe driving always, driving us to a variety of sightseeing places, advising us vegetarian food options, providing good useful information to make our tour comfortable and enjoyable. In brief, Ranga looked after us like a family member during the entire tour. We have given 5 star rating for Ranga and for the Beauty Lanka tour, 7 star is probably more accurate!!

My husband and I arrived in Sri Lanka on a morning flight and after checking into our hotel, managed to book a late afternoon walking tour with Harold of Colombo Walks. What a fabulous introduction to the city and to Sri Lanka in general! Walking tours allow you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a destination and in this case, Harold provided the expert “soundtrack”. We saw many of the city centre’s iconic sights at a reasonable pace, while learning about Sri Lanka’s complex history and current forces at play. Harold was a friendly and companionable guide with a depth of knowledge that he was happy to share, often with a humourous aside or two! We had a thoroughly enjoyable and informative few hours in his company.

If you're in Colombo, you cannot miss this exceptional geographical and historical tour of the Fort and Pettah neighbourhoods. At a relaxed pace, the tour offers rich information on the evolution of the city, served with an inextinguishable passion and a touch of humour. It is a super pleasant introduction to the city. Warmly recommended.

We organised our trip via FB and WhatsApp as we were on a cruise. Our lovely driver Manju was waiting for us at the port and in three hours, he took us to loads of interesting places in Colombo. We saw elephants in the park, Buddhist Temples, old town hall, colonial hotels, independence monument and loads more. Manju bought us coconut drinks and we had a cooler box of drinks to share too. A real treat. The jeep was comfortable and the driving was very safe. Manju's knowledge of Sri Lankan history was very informative and he dropped us back at the port at the agreed time and in plenty of time before the ship left port. I can definitely recommend Colombo by Jeep to cruise passengers as an alternative to the cruise ship's excursions.

We had the most wonderful 2 weeks with Lala travelling around Sri Lanka. He was so professional and friendly, and made our trip so special and unforgettable. He has so much knowledge of the country, history, Buddhism and nature. He helped so much to plan our trip beforehand then made everything so easy once we arrived. I would highly recommend him to anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka.

Dilhan provided us with VIP service from beginning to end. A very safe and responsible driver whom we will recommend to all our friends who plan to visit Sri Lanka (Island of Gems). We really enjoyed lunch at Refresh Restaurant on a beach in Hikkaduwa (recommended by Dilhan). On our way back to the airport, we had the pleasure of meeting Dilhan’s wife & children in their home. The food prepared by Sanju was delicious. We are so grateful for their hospitality and feel that they are now family to us. A big thank you to Dilhan for a wonderful time!

Harsha was a fantastic tour guide- a lovely person who was interesting and knowledgeable on so many aspects of the trip. Constantly trying to be flexible and fit into the family. A great modern touring van- plenty of room for 6 people plus luggage. Highly recommend Harsha !
