What travellers are saying
- Logan HIsrael1 contributionFrom my own childhood till now I feel more spiritual whenever I visit the old city of Jerusalem. And I am compelled to write about this as it is one of most historical places in Israel. I know right now the world is not in the right view for visiting Israel, but once you do do mot miss this.Written 27 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This garden is important for Christian believers, because here our Lord Jesus Christ rested and prayed, before being arrested by the guards.Written 26 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As a devout believer in Jesus, my visit to Montes das Oliveiras was an incredibly profound and spiritual experience. However, even for those who may not share the same religious beliefs, this destination offers breathtaking views that are sure to leave you in awe. Prepare to be captivated by the natural beauty and the historical significance that Montes das Oliveiras has to offer.
Upon arriving at Montes das Oliveiras, I was immediately struck by the serene atmosphere that permeates the area. The peacefulness and tranquility create the perfect ambiance for prayer, meditation, and reflection. For believers, this is a place where you can connect with your faith on a deep level and feel the power and presence of Jesus. The atmosphere is imbued with a sense of reverence and spirituality, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a sacred experience.
Apart from its religious significance, Montes das Oliveiras boasts breathtaking views that are nothing short of spectacular. As I stood atop the hill, I was greeted with a panoramic vista that stretched as far as the eye could see. The rolling landscape, covered in lush green olive trees, seemed to extend endlessly, painting a picturesque scene. The gentle breeze, the warm sunlight, and the symphony of chirping birds added to the enchanting ambiance of the place. I could easily spend hours simply admiring the beauty that surrounded me.
One particular highlight of my visit was witnessing the Apocalypse Gates. These ancient gates hold immense historical and biblical importance. Standing before them, I couldn't help but marvel at the stories and events that unfolded within their vicinity. It was a humbling experience, reminding me of the rich history and the profound impact this region has had on countless individuals throughout the ages. Whether you are a history enthusiast or simply appreciate the grandeur of ancient architecture, the Apocalypse Gates are sure to leave a lasting impression.
In addition to its spiritual and scenic allure, Montes das Oliveiras offers easy access to other significant landmarks in the region. Visitors can explore nearby attractions such as the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane, which hold deep religious significance and provide further insight into the history of the area.
Overall, Montes das Oliveiras is a destination that transcends religious boundaries. Whether you visit to deepen your faith or simply to soak in the stunning views, this place will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression. The combination of its spiritual aura, breathtaking vistas, and historical importance makes it a must-visit location for anyone traveling to Israel. There is so much to see and learn about.also there were many activities for the kids you like making dream catcher. The guided tour is musk be taken because it's a big place. It's also combining history with technology which very appropriate for kids.Written 20 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rafaelrabelloCampinas, SP182 contributionsAmazing feeling being there.
We were there on a Sunday: mass started 6am and ended 7am.
The tomb opened right after the mass at 7am. People following the mass were the first to enter.
Absolutely no lines at this time. Me and my wife could enter there twice with a 2min. maximum line.
So the recommendation is to arrive early in the morning. Tomb opening time on Sunday: 7am. Mess start on Sunday: 6am.Written 28 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MooshLACalabasas, CA612 contributionsFirst and foremost, these tours (both Bridge and Rock tours) are well worth a visit. I have been to Israel many times however this was the first that I purchased tickets to experience the lower section. It was quite a cool experience. I opted for the English tours and my guide Sharon was outstanding. I look forward to returning in the future once additional areas are opened up.
Suggestions:
*Wear comfortable shoes
*If you have issues with narrow passageways, this tour may not be for you as it traverses long narrow walkways for a majority of the tour,
*You walk for 70% of the time so be prepared.
*The tours are stacked and in between they flow in bar mitzvah groups which tend to get loud and disruptive to the paid group tours.
*Be sure to check in at least 15-20 minutes before your tour (they suggest 30).
*Each tour lasts 60-70 minutes each.
*Be ready to learn quite a bit about the First and Second Temples which I found to be very informative and interesting for as much as I have learned during my school days.Written 4 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Do not wear flip-flop or shoes that will come off while walking as you are walking through water from ankle to thigh depth. There are potholes where you could twists an ankle, this isn’t for those who have difficulty walking. There are narrows and areas that require sidesteping, bending and stooping. We will do it again.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
