This tour combined the three things I was most interested in seeing in our short time in Nairobi. We had a single day to spend in Nairobi before traveling onward to Tanzania.

Santa arrived early to pick us up from the hotel and was cheerful and excited to get started. There were only two of us, so the whole trip was pretty flexible. We discussed the itinerary for the day and what time we would arrive back to the hotel. Since we were traveling to Tanzania the next day, we needed a recent negative PCR test. Santa coordinated a traveling medical professional to come test us and they provided same day results, so we were able to relax and enjoy a stress free day.

We rearranged the stops so that Giraffe Center was our second stop since the test took some time and the elephant orphanage is only a 1-hour time slot. We arrived to the orphanage on time and were able to pet baby elephants as they came up to the fence and watched them drink bottles of milk and play in the mud. They explained the reasons why the elephants were there and each of their names and personalities. Overall it was very educational. They're pretty active on Instagram as well if you're interested in learning a little about the organization or want to follow them after your visit.

We stopped to purchase souvenirs at a shop that had just about everything you could want. They source their items from various villages and artists and sell on behalf of them so purchases go back to the community. The Giraffe Center was pretty simple, but we did what we came to do - hand feed the giraffes and took plenty of photos! For lunch we stopped at Hungers Nest and had some authentic Kenyan food and tea. Order the chapati! The food was delicious and the ambiance was relaxing with outdoor seating in a garden area.

Nairobi National park was beautiful juxtaposed against the city in the background. It started to rain a little during our drive, so I was a little worried we weren't going to see many animals. A lot of the other safari cars disappeared but we continued to drive around. Santa spotted a black rhino in the distance with his eagle eyes. It looked like a brown speck on the horizon. We saw zebras, ostriches, gazelle, antelope, warthogs, hippos, a crocodile, and a male lion sleeping. Then we turned a corner and saw a pride of lions that were right next to the car. Santa told us about animal traits and educated us while we encountered animals. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would 10/10 recommend doing this if you are spending any time in Nairobi.

The whole experience is awesome. My online search led to this tour which was price friendly and highly rated. The office responded quickly and i joined the afternoon tour. Quite amazing with animals freely roaming in the park. The jeep was comfortable and had great views. Will recommend to friends.

My family and I were very pleased with the services of Africa Flash McTours and Travel during our trip to Masai Mara and Amboseli. Right from setting up the itinerary to its execution, everything was organized perfectly. Though our trip was not finalized till the last minute due to COVID regulation, Peter was helpful right from the beginning, three months in advance, answering to my emails and messages. At no point I felt that he was not cooperating considering that there was no guarantee of our safari. While booking hotels, he ensured that my request for wheelchair assistance rooms were considered. Weekend was not an issue with him. He was available 24/7. He even helped us in getting our Kenya visa when my online visa agent did not respond to my calls in spite paying full amount in advance. Without Peter’s help our trip would not have taken place.
Peter has an excellent team especially his tour guide Simon. We had an amazing experience with Simon. He went above and beyond as our guide. His knowledge and experience in the parks helped us see all the major animals. He was also extremely patient and courteous, especially since we had someone who needed a wheelchair. He was always punctual and made sure we left early for all the safaris. Being young, he had the same enthusiasm as a normal tourist would have and went beyond his limits to make sure that we get an unforgettable safari experience.

A fantastic day me and my wife went on that will give you memories of a lifetime! Our driver Santa picked us up at 05:00 hours in Nairobi and then we were off towards Amboseli which is a 4-5 hour drive depending on traffic.

We made our first stop in Emali town for coffee, tea or drinks. It was a clear sky blue day so right after leaving Emali we could see the great Kilimanjaro tower up above the savannah in front of us even though we still had 1,5 hours left before we could reach the gate of Amboseli.

The safari in Amboseli lasted for around 5 hours and included a lunch break to eat some buffet food at Ol Tukai Lodge. The safari is just as you can expect fantastic and filled with animals straight outta Animal Planet or National Georgraphic. We saw, to mention a few, animals like hippos, elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, wildebeest, thomson gazelles, impalas and a wide range of different bird species as well. The sceneries of the national park in itself is epic with Kilimanjaro, the swamps, lakes and marshlands, the dry savannahs with the acacia trees and much more. It can all be witnessed from above as well from an observation hill that is within the national park. Amazing views!

After going outside the gates of Amboseli in the afternoon, me and my wife were given the opportunity to choose to do an extra visit at a local Maasai-village. Which we of course did and that gave us a lot of interesting insight into the life and culture of the Maasai people. A very interesting and humbling experience indeed to spend time with the locals there and experience their ways of life.

Then we made our way back towards Nairobi happy, amazed and stunned at what we just experienced. At around 21:00 hours we were back at the hotel with memories of a lifetime fresh in our minds.

We want to give a big thanks to the tour company and especially to the excellent and very social driver Santa who made sure that me and my wife had an awesome and unforgettable day.

Booked this tour before we left as it seemed extremely good value, we made a good choice. We were given an approximate pick up time when I placed the booking then got a SMS the evening before the safari giving us an up to date pick up.
Titus our guide turned up bang on time in a nice, clean van and he gave the seats a clean with anti-bio wipes before we got in.
We’ve done safaris at Tsavo and Maasai Mara before and found the Nairobi National Park to be a condensed version of the bigger ones. Saw many cape buffalo up close and bumping the car, saw lion up close, hippo, eland, giraffe, zebra, impala and most plains game. Saw a rhino with a suckling calf so that got me my big five as it’s the first wild one I’ve seen, very pleased with that.
We stopped at a picnic area, again Titus wiped down the seats, very happy with the COVID precautions.
We then went to the Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary and then the giraffe sanctuary; can not recommend these too highly; either for the visits or the great work they both do.
Titus’ knowledge of the area and also of the animals habitat and behaviours was wonderful, very educational.
We wouldn’t hesitate to book this tour again, wonderful opportunity to see so much wildlife in just a few hours; we were picked up at 0540 and back in our hotel at 1430- there is an option to be dropped off at the airports too so it is a fantastic way to spend a long layover.
Thanks Titus, for a wonderful, memorable day!

There are a lot of tour operators to choose from to go to the Masai Mara and it it can be a bit overwhelming who to go with. After much research and reading what seemed like hundreds of reviews we decided to go with Perfect Wilderness Safaris. Initial contact with George was fantastic. He gave us a range of accommodation options to choose from for our 2 nights and let us pick where to stay. We ended up choosing Keekorok Lodge which was great. George’s communication on all our queries and questions prior was excellent. We were picked up on time by George and introduced to our fantastic guide Sammy who spent the next 3 days with us. We had the Toyota Landcruiser 4x4 which was in very good condition. Over the 3 days Sammy proved to be an excellent guide and safe driver, spotting all the wildlife, we saw the big 5 (even rhinos!) and plenty more. He has over 20 years experience and knew all the other guides. He spent time on the radio chatting to all the other guides about where the animals were and what we would see next. He was also very patient with our requests and my two kids aged 4 and 11. We had the trip of a lifetime and memories we will cherish forever. Thank you George and Sammy from Perfect Wilderness Safaris! If you choose to go with these guys you won’t regret it!

Had a great half day Safari yesterday. Duncan was very knowledgeable and we got to see both black and white rhinos, lions, hippos, crocodiles and much more, most of it up close. There was no WIFI on our truck but that was no big deal. Would definitely recommend.

Alex was great as he tried very hard to find you animals for you to see at the Nairobi park. We were able to see giraffes, lions, rhinos, etc. we also visit the giraffe centers and feed them. Stop at a Gift shop plus the Karen Blixen Museum I gave them 4 stars because they didn’t mention that the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphaned Was closed. A little heads up would of been nice but the rest of the trip was fine.

Kelvin was a wonderful guide! He was extremely knowledgable about Nairobi and Kenya more broadly. He knew the history of the elephant orphanage and giraffe centre well and was able to answer our questions about the animals. He was early to pick us up and very friendly throughout our day! We highly recommend Kelvin as an excellent tour guide!

We booked several excursions with Perfect Wilderness - in Nairobi, we visited the Kazuri Bead factory, the Kiambethu Tea Farm, the Fairview Coffee Estate and Karuru Forest. In addition to the planned excursions, our driver Black Santa went out of his way (at our request) to show us the "real" Nairobi, including the Kibera slums - a very humbling experience to say the least.

We also booked a two-day safari excursion to Amboseli through Perfect Wilderness, and the game viewing was absolutely spectacular - in addition to viewing Kilimanjaro with a clear peak, we also experience some amazing viewings of game including a pack of lions (two males, two females and seven cubs) and three cheetahs (which Black Santa had never seen at Amboseli).

We could have done these excursions with any tour company - however, the real differentiator that made it such a special experience was our driver / guide, Black Santa. For six days together, Black Santa was part of our family, and he did a wonderful job imparting his wisdom about local culture and wildlife to us, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

I'm giving this a five-star review because of the quality of the guide and the sights I saw, as well as the clear and precise communications with the Gracepatt agency, but the hotel quality could easily take this down to a four star review.

I took a two-day tour with driver/guide Stephen in early August. I was the only one on the trip, although I did not specify a private tour. Stephen arrived early to pick me up at my hotel. He is a fantastic guide and driver - negotiating the crazy traffic between Nairobi and Naivasha/Hell's Gate/Nakuru with calmness and determination. He speaks good English, is very knowledgeable and is an excellent conversationalist. Oh, and he's fully vaccinated and has the documentation to prove it.

I was headed to the Mara and Lake Victoria after this and wanted to see a different part of Kenya closer to Nairobi. This was a perfect choice - the combination of an active bicycle trip through Hell's Gate (pst zebras and giraffes), along with a good walk up Hell's Canyon, coupled with a boat tour of Lake Naivasha to see hippos and birds, and then the game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park was a perfect intro to this part of Kenya and the Rift Valley. The guides that Gracepatt used in addition to Stephen (David at Hell's Gate and Nicholas for the Lake Naivasha boat tour) were friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The most impressive aspect of the trip, and of Stephen's service as a guide, came when he rearranged the schedule for us to do Lake Nakuru on the second day, which meant that we left early in the morning from the adjacent hotel and spent a good five hours on a game drive through the National Park. We saw rhinos, giraffes, Cape Buffalo, zebras, warthogs, Grant's gazelles, impalas, an ostrich, a huge number of flamingos on the lake shore and most impressively, right near the end, two lionesses within 75 feet of our vehicle. This was only possible because Stephen was on the radio and his phone all morning checking with other guides to verify the locations of individual animals.

My only criticism of the tour was that the hotel where we stayed, Lanet Matfam, was not a great choice. The room design was awkward and a bit crowded. You had to maneuver around the sink and toilet with not much room to get to the shower, the water pressure in the shower was marginal, and the water was lukewarm. The staff at the hotel was great and it was close to the park entrance, and the grounds were pleasant and quiet, but I would have happily paid a bit more for an upgrade in room/hotel quality. Perhaps this could be an optional tour add on in the future?

An enjoyable solo trip. I felt in control at all times, and never pressured to do anything I didn’t want, and appreciated the flexibility of the itinerary. I chose to do a bike ride in Naivasha instead of the boat trip, which turned out to be a real highlight, but not recommended for the unfit! My driver Paul was a chilled, witty and knowledgeable guy. As a first timer Nakuru satisfied my safari itch in a limited timeframe. My only criticism would be that the car we took was not the best suited for safari as it was a regular people carrier with no sunroof, but equally that made for a more comfortable ride on the long drive from and to Nairobi. All in all I was pleased with how much we managed to fit in and still be back to Nairobi by late afternoon.

My fiancé and I booked the tour for the giraffe sanctuary and Carnivore restaurant last minute upon arriving in Nairobi. Claudia drove us between locations and made us feel safe and comfortable. Feeding the giraffes was a treat and we enjoyed learning about the sanctuary’s efforts. Our lunch at Carnivore was very festive and we surely did have to put the flag down (metaphorically and physically) because we were quite full from all the delicious meats and scrumptious desserts. We are grateful to Claudia for helping us have a great first day in Nairobi by making us feel safe and welcome, teaching us about the city, and getting us where we needed to be. Thank you!

I booked the 4D/3N tour including Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru.

The tour was well organized, smooth, and hassle-free. George, the manager, was supportive and planned a tour that was tailored to our needs.

George made the effort to customize the tour for us - including, 50% advance payment instead of full; half tour in cruiser, other in van; and decreasing our costs as EAC residents.

Our guide, Peter, also made a lot of effort in Mara, driving us from 6 AM to 6 PM one day. He explained the animals well too.

Finally, in Lake Nakuru we were asked to pay the full adult price as they didn't include EAC residents. This was an extra cost over our package and George generously pocketed this for us.

Perfect Wilderness is a small company but they offer affordable, customized, and great experiences. I'd highly recommend them.

My partner and I have booked the full day safari tour of the national park, Visit of elephant orphage and center of giraffe.
We booked at the last minute as we were short on time and not had lots of days to spend in nairobi and what an experience!

It's really worth it! Simba is a very multi tache guide! He is very friendly, engaging, very passionate and knowledgeable. He provides a lot of extra infos about animals which is highly appreciated. He also drives safely and we were really lucky to have him.
Early in the morning the driver coms to pick you at your place, and we directly go to the park. The advantage in the morning is that you get to see animals as they are more active early and we could see girafes under the sunrise, zebras, several differente species of antilopes, buffalo, crocodile, hypopo, birds, wild beasts, impala, rhinos, ostrich and so on. In the afternoon you get the chance to approach babies elephant with explanations about them (age, name, where they were born,...) and then to feed very social and friendly giraffes in the center.

The website is very secure for the payment, you receive the receipt immediately on your email address (i have a french credit card visa).

If you want a secure tour and a guide who gives you extra infos you should definitely book for this tour.

I had an excellent day on my private Hells Gate National Park and Lake Navaisha tour. First you stop at the great rift Valley for a photo, stunning views and there is a lovely shop there with lots of Kenyan gifts for sale if you feel like shopping. You collect the bikes at Hells Gate and bike 20km in total, passing the original Pride Rock from the Lion King, lots of animals to see. The gorge is really cool, you feel a healthy natural fear down there! Animals in the day included vultures, hippos, African eagles, zebras, giraffes, buffalo's, wildebeest, pelicans, storks etc. Driver Scar was super friendly and Elizabeth and her husband who run the business are really helpful and knowledgeable and can tailor the safaris to what you need. I definitely plan on coming back to see the migration with them! 👍

I ended up being the only one going that day. My guide was Stephen Mutuku. Let me try to tell you how much fun we had that day!!!! Absolutely fantastic. It was like my own personal tour. I can’t recommend this enough. It was exactly what I wanted to see and I didn’t have a bunch of days to do. To be honest this was absolutely perfect. I don’t feel like I needed more time at any place. It was just right. Once again I thank Stephen for everything!!! I now feel I have a friend in Kenya.

Started early and saw lots of animals including lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, gazelles, ostriches, and many others. Also got an excellent view of the sunrise. Learned a lot at the elephant orphanage and got to see the elephants up close being fed. Got to see giraffes up close and feed them at the giraffe center. Our guide Titus was very knowledgeable and knew exactly where to go to find all of the different animals. Overall I highly recommend this tour.

We had one day in Nairobi and booked this tour- it was efficient and just what we wanted to source a few local finds. Stephen was fantastic/ prompt/knowledgeable and took us to the main stops in the Karen area which was beautiful. I suggest making your purchases at the Utamaduni Artisans of Africa market- you don’t have to haggle and the prices are fair and the goods are really beautiful. All in all a great day! A fantastic half-day tour that me and my wife got to experience. The day started with a beautiful sunrise when we were driving into Nairobi National Park. Alex the driver that took us around know exactly were the animals roam and at what time, so because of his skills we were able to see a male and female lion eating an antelope right in front of our eyes just 15-20 meters away! A memory of a lifetime! Except the lions and antelopes we saw a bunch of other animals as well including hippos, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, thomson gazelles, impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, baboons and a lot of different bird species.

After the national park we got to eat lunch at Golden Eagle Arts Gallery where you can buy Maasai-souvenirs.

Next up the tour visits the elephant orphanage Sheldrick which was interesting and after that also the Giraffe Centre were you can feed the giraffes with snacks yourself, which is a cool experience.

This tour will give you memories of a lifetime and it will make you feel like you’ve been participating on Animal Planet or National Geographic. So if there is anything you really must do while in Nairobi, then it is to go on this tour! Don’t leave Nairobi without having experienced this because then you haven’t truly been in Nairobi for real!

A big thanks to the tour company and especially to the excellent driver Alex.
