Great Tibet Tours was very professional and knowledgeable from planning to my flight home. Tour guides and drivers with great knowledge of history, folklore, places to eat, best locations for photos, taking a sincere interest in the groups comfort and safety with the Mt. Everest altitude.

I had great fun during my tour to Tibet. The tour was organized superbly. They helped me buy plane tickets much cheaper than on any search sites. I was met at the airport and taken to the hotel. The hotel is great. Many thanks to Beatrice for her patience, I bombarded her with questions and demands. I definitely recommend this company. Tibet is great, 100% worth to visit.

Can't recommend this company enough. We did it very last minute and got our Chinese visas a few days before we flew to Chengdu and got the train to Lhasa. Lycoris our contact was patient and reassuring over the applications. The trip itself was something else. Tibet is a stunning country and the Polata Palace and Mount Everest were among the many highlights.

I did the Lhasa city tour with Tibet Vista and loved the experience. The time was short but it was jam packed with attractions. Our guide, Jinmei, was very knowledgeable on Tibetan culture, history, and religion. He gave interesting and educational commentary at every attraction we went to. There wasn't any forced shopping, and the restaurants we went to had very authentic Tibetan food. The driver was professional and the rides were comfortable. Tibet Vista is a very reputable and professional company and they made my trip as seamless as they could.

My friends and I participated in the Mount Kailash tour on July 2 this year. This trip went very smoothly, and I was very lucky to see the full view of Mount Everest and its unparalleled beauty in the setting sun for only one minute.
The 16-day journey was very rich. I saw the magnificent Potala Palace, visited the sacred Jokhang Temple, looked up at the Karola Glacier, strolled beside the two holy lakes of Yamdrok and Manasarovar, etc. wait. In particular, the three-day trek around Mount Kailash-Kangrinboqe, left me with an unforgettable experience in my life.

All of these are thanks to the travel agency who arranged the itinerary for us this time-Tibet Vista, and the staff who connected with us GEMMA-Xiao Wei, who is patient, careful, and friendly. Respond to questions in a timely manner and do their best. To solve our worries and doubts, she specially made personalized adjustments for our itinerary, so that we can start the next journey smoothly after we leave Tibet! We once consulted with another travel company, and the other party obviously lost interest after hearing that we were older, and there was no reply.

In addition, the documents and customs clearance procedures for this itinerary were also done very well. Basically, we were not disturbed by any customs clearance procedures and enjoyed the tour to the fullest.

Another highlight is the tour guide this time. It is a Tibetan compatriot named-Pasang, and he is a trustworthy tour guide. He speaks 3 languages: Tibetan, Chinese and English. He is humorous, careful, kind, enthusiastic and takes care of everyone's needs. He is a master with a spirit of ownership and sincerely welcomes guests to Tibet, understands Tibet, and loves Tibet.

All in all, this trip to Tibet was full of rewards. We had good luck along the way and the weather was good. It ended safely and perfectly. Thanks Tibet Vista!

Tibet Vista!

I planned my trip with Great Tibet Travels last year (2019) during July. This trip has changed my life for the better. The tour company and the tour guide Darghye were wonderful. During my 3 day trek, Darghye walked beside me to the most part and gave commentary. This man is knowledgeable and knows what he is talking about.

Darghye kept an eye on all members on the tour and periodically asked us how we are doing altitude sickness wise.

Remember while doing the trek, think positive and take baby steps and this may change your life for the better.

Regarding the tour company they were kind enough to upgrade my hotel location at a couple of locations for no extra charge.

    Trek Planning - Fitness:
I am a New Yorker and moderately fit. Before going on this trip, never in my life walked more than 5 miles a day. I started off with walking 9K to 10K steps per day at a moderate pace for a few weeks. I took it to the next level by walking around central park - this takes about 16K steps in about 3.5 hours and this I used to do every weekend. Since we lived in a high raised building, every day I used to climb stairs (sometimes 10 floors and sometimes 20 floors). Maybe a few times I walked on the treadmill in the Gym with inclination set to 14 for about 15 minutes.

    Trek Planning - Medication:
I scheduled an appointment with my PCP - got the prescription for diamox and antibiotics. I also took with me tylenol, motrin, a miniverion of first aid kit.

    Trek Planning - General:
You can read as much as you want on fitness but one should learn to know and listen to ones’ body. I carried some nuts and granola bars and do not forget ponchos

    Trek - Altitude Sickness:
Diamox will do its job and you do your job. Remember to take it easy the first few days, no need to run or get excited, let me body adapt. My mantra initially was to walk like a snail, take small steps (remember to listen to your body and keep your mind in a positive state).

I did get headaches and took tylenol.

This was my third trip with Tibet Tourism and once again they did not disappoint. As usual, the trip was well organized from pre-trip paperwork to drop off at the airport.

Accommodations were comfortable, the in country travel well divided for stops and meals. Our guide, being Tibet, was excellent - obviously well versed in the people, culture and religion.

Tibet was on my bucket list and it too did not disappoint. Everything was beyond my expectation.

    Thanks, guys!
We loved it. Loved the guide, who was a super nice Tibetan lady, and the driver. They showed us the place from the inside.
Tibet is such a unique place! Nothing like that in the world. Top of the world.
Also I wish we were more prepared for the high altitude, which didn't let us enjoy Tibet as much as we could've without the altitude sickness and the need for an oxygen tank :)
The nature is stunning and the Tibet culture is transforming and disappearing. So go and see it now.

I needed to go to Shishapangma base camp for a very important person reason in Jan 2024 and found TIbet Vista online. I can't be more happy to have worked with them. They showed upmost professionalism and kindness by designing a customized solo tour for me (nobody goes there in winter) and handled every single little detail along the path in reaching my requested destination. They welcomed me with open arms and made my wish come true. The trip is one I will cherish for the rest of my life and I am so thankful for Tibet Vista. Highly recommended.

My wife and I travelled to Lhasa in December 2019 and after three nights there we continued to Gyantse and Shigatse with Tibet Vista on a private tour for just the two of us. Our guide was Chatse Tenzing. Tenzing was a very knowledgeable and attentive guide and we thoroughly recommend him. This trip is a magnificent one to take. The scenery is spectacular and the monasteries and forts really interesting.
