What travellers are saying
- Ross HWarwick, Australia2,101 contributionsNo casinos in Santiago city. The casinos are in municipalities around the city to share the ‘revenue’ . Typical casino once insideWritten 12 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Thomas PClinton, Canada6 contributionsMusic often in casino from live performers helps raise the bar for a great casino. Lots of staff so no waiting for service or attention. Part of a large hotel and resort make the whole experience a fun one.Written 13 January 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- David SHamilton, Canada25 contributionsAn excellent locale on Av. Alemania. The room was very comfortable, with a large bathroom; one of the few with a tub large enough for me to completely stretch out. My room (518) had a nice view of the city and one of the volcanoes in the distance. The breakfast was typical for a Chilean hotel; lunch and dinner were excellent -- good selection and nicely prepared. Be aware that people eat much later than in North America: 2 to 3 for lunch, and 9-10 for dinner. Also, as is typical in Chile, lunch is the main meal of the day. On the minus side, there was no coffee or tea in the room. The room tended to be on the dark side, with no place to sit and read comfortably -- no easy chair and limited lighting. Being a statistician, I avoided the casino, which I see as a tax on the statistically challenged.Written 19 December 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rodrigo FernándezSantiago, Chile190 contributionsI am not a casino player, but if you want to enjoy an economic buffet, this is the place and Wednesday is teh day. On Wendesay night they have a special buffet price: $5.000 pesos (some 7 dollars)Written 17 May 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JonisharpsSpring, TX55 contributionsThe food and drinks were good. The rooms were beautiful. Unfortunately we had trouble with the A/C in our room, so they brought us a fan.
Be careful with the shower doors...they will spill into the rest of the bathroom area.
The Sky Bar does not open until six. Be sure and check out the view from the ladies bathroom stalls at the Sky Bar... surprisingly nice!Written 31 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - MLB90405Santa Monica, CA40 contributionsWe came to see Il Volo as it was the last stop on their 2017 tour. Being from the USA, we didn't realize there is a FEE to enter the casino, you got a free entrance voucher with the concert, so that was nice, the fee is not high but $5-10 a person to enter is not something we are used to in the USA, where it is free to enter. I did like that they had great security as there was a gun incident at this casino that I had read about. We went to Res vs. the buffet and I think the buffet may have been a better idea. The beef was good, however no one spoke english in the ENTIRE place, good thing my spanish isn't awful. There are some video games for kids and 1-2 stores, not a mall by any means, unless it used to be there and closed, not sure. I would go again to see a show but not for any other reason.Written 3 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ecuadorjocelynVina del Mar, Chile21 contributionsThe casino is very specious inside. There are lots of slot machines. However it is somewhat boring for a casino. The atmosphere is not great and there are very few visitors there in the daytime. There is a small cover charge for an entrance fee. They have both a smoking area and a non smoking area. It was not a place that I would return to very often.Written 22 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LuchoruizOsorno, Chile200 contributionsAlthough this casino is not as good as the ones in other cities, it certainly is a sure bet when you are looking for a place where you can let your hair down.
There are shops and restaurants inside.
In the evenings, they have shows.
The hotel has a great view over the River Rahue.Written 6 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Stuart JSt Leonards-on-Sea, UK166 contributionsSporting is the racetrack for the 5th. region. The wooden stands are of architectural interest, as they were built by the British during the 19th. century, and are in excellent condition. The gardens have also retained their original character.
If you can, come to the Derby which is run on the first Sunday of February as part of a 26 race card. The only downside is that there are big queues for everything with more than 150,000 in attendance. Visiting on any normal Wednesday meeting will give you the experience without the crowds.
It is, without doubt, the most interesting racecourse in Chile.Written 24 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - fizzy1991Nashville, TN5,676 contributionsOnly went in because it was part of the package from the hotel next door. Wouldn't spend my money on it otherwise. The museum next door is fantastic though. Spend your money to go and educate yourself not throw it down a slot machine.Written 26 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LowieSantiago_ChileSantiago, Chile156 contributionsWe had a wonderful stay on our recent trip to Northern Patagonia. Service is excellent and friendly personnel. The all you can eat "asado" is a must.
Hopefully corona will be over soon so we can make our own choice from the buffet.Written 1 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Richard MPhoenix, AZ406 contributionsThe only casino in Arica features slot machines, two tables each of roulette and blackjack. It is not crowded, probably because Arica is a port city and not a tourist city.Written 9 April 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
