One of the best historical places I've ever been to! Very interactive, and quite a terrifying experience at parts, especially with the sounds playing. I arrived around 10am and was one of the only people there, which added to the atmosphere. An excellent and informative experience, and the staff were incredibly friendly. A bargain at 700 Lek entry - this would easily be double or triple the cost in many other places. Easy to reach from Tirana centre using the Porcelan bus too (40 Lek each way), took me about 25-30 minutes.

After reading many articles on what to do in Tirana if you are visiting for 2 or 3 days, going on the cable car was universally suggested. We’ve just returned after a nice 3 hours trip and enjoyed the views.

It’s about an hours walk from the city centre so we took the blue bus 11 to Porcelan from the main square and it took around 25/30 mins (very busy bus with 17 stops to the cable car!). It’s still a reasonable climb up to the cable car station when you get off the bus so if this is a problem take a taxi instead as they seem to be able to drop off at the station itself.

We bought the ticket with mini golf included which was about £15 each. It was a Monday morning when we went so was quite quiet. It’s about 15 mins to the top and you have some great views - shame you can’t take any decent photos or video as people have scratched their names etc in the plastic glass.

There’s not a lot to do at the top - we played mini golf and had a quick lunch in the restaurant before heading back down.

Would certainly recommend this is a tourists list of things to do while in Tirana

This was ourvfirst stop after arriving in Tirana early in the morning and dropping the bags etc at our Hotel. It is the main City Square and as such is a large open space. There are a number of the city cites however located along its edges which makes it a good first place to visit. There are a number of restaurants/cafes located on one side which makes it a great place to stop for lunch an d people watch. It is also home to the I"love"T sign.

A gorgeous park to walk around, very clean and peaceful. We visited a lakeside restaurant and had the best fries ever! Such a nice view from the lakeside paths with the mountains serving as a an astonishing backdrop.

To think there is a generation who would look with raised eyebrows at so,e of the items referred to and on display, meanwhile there are those who firmly believe that their rights are abused when asked to wear a face mask. This musem brilliantly captures the events geopolitically that led to imprisonment, torture and death with implied collective approval of the majority or in reality the silence of the majority. Walking round you do wonder how many people whose paths I crossed today, where on the wrong side of this period and how much information they hold even today of those now in power. It’s all about targeting minorities and then recruiting population to be on your side against them. It has great parallels even today.

The office brought back many memories as it was a communist model, parquet floors, wood clad walls large imposing desk with portrayals and a TV blaring in the corner. Spent many hours in such being questioned or having tea and sweets on good days. They all also had the same smell.

This is a small but nice mosque located in a corner of the main square. The art work inside is beautiful. P[ease remember to show respect by taking your shoes off before entry rather than waiting to be told to do so. Also, come back at night to look at it again from the outside when it is lit up.

Amazing views! Cost €14 euros for a return, the cable car was around 20 minutes and the views were amazing. It wasn’t busy at all. There was lots to do at the top and the cafe was nice. Views were unbeatable! By far the best thing I did in Tirana !

This is a nice modern church built after the communist era. It is well worth a visit to see the inside and the bell tower. Make sure you walk past again at night to see it lit up.

This is a historic statue set in the main square. So it is a must do when walking round the main square and taking in the sites.

A really interesting museum to visit in Tirana. Entry was around £6.50 (700 lek) and we were there for around one hour. It was fascinating learning about the communist history of Albania because I did not know much about the country's history before visiting. My only issue was we were constantly followed around by a woman who worked there checking on us. We would have understood had we been the only ones there but it was super busy but she just followed us - do we really look that dodgy!

If you want to learn about Albanian history head for the Muzeu Historik Kombetar in Skanderbej Square. It is a bit dark and gloomy inside and is not air-conditioned, which is an issue on a very hot day, like when we visited. It does do a good job of representing the historical background of the country.

Clock tower located just of the main square and next to the mosque.

Tower itself looks nice and has historical value to the area and city. Up top views are fairly good and you can see a lot of main square.

Not overly expensive to walk up tower so probably worth doing for that reason.

A lovely walk through and up to a massive shopping centre. Some coffee shops and fast food along the walk.
A pretty walk, but upon closer look could do with some looking after.
The lights along the path are all uncovered and have had their wires removed. A few uneven and missing paving stones.
But a nice pretty place in a busy centre

Toptani is a great shopping mall with many shops. It is in the centre of Tirana, close to Skanderbeg square and attractions. Becuase of it's large size and many floors, you will need a few hours to shop. There's also a bar and some eateries should you need a break from walking around. You can also walk through the shopping centre into the market square where there are many restaurants, bars and the Kinema Millennium (cinema)
