When we did find a good lunch option, the woman handled our banknotes and then proceeded to handle our food with her un-gloved hands — gross! But, I suppose that was just an example of a stark cultural difference.

I was disappointed to realize that it’s essentially just a large grocery store. - Caroline15 contributionsI only had time to visit one mall during my trip and chose this one because it was easy to get to on the bus which stopped right outside. 3 floors of good shopping with a small but nice food court. Not too crowded; quite a few sales on; shop assistants were generally quite friendly even though most didn't speak English and I don't speak Bulgarian. - Wayfaring LibertarianBelfast, UK982 contributionsI couldn’t find any hours for the “fair” listed online, so I took a chance and went on a Saturday afternoon. I think these vendors have been trained to spot a tourist from a kilometer away.
It was difficult to browse the items comfortably without being interrupted by vendors who assumed you had money to spend. It was also difficult to take photos with the vendors watching you like a hawk.
I ended up buying a Bulgaria sticker for 4 Lev. To me, that was an outrageously inflated price, but I just let it go.
As an antique lover, I’m glad I went. But if a person prefers fun and entertainment, there's a cinema and even a laser arena. Big place with lots of shops, but with repeating merchandise: clothes, cellphone accesories, hunting clothes, children toys. Most are Chinese production. - Nikolay T1 contributionI went to Tempus Vini for the wine tasting. It was a very pleasant experience. The owner of the shop lead the wine tasting. It was very interesting to learn about the different wines made in Bulgaria and the regions which grow the best grapes for a specific wine.
He had selected 6 wines to taste which to me were very unique in their taste and smells.
