We were there towards the end of November, and we were mighty impressed by this place and thoroughly enjoyed it. It may seem pointless on the face of it, because it's nothing but a bunch of rooms with lightings & mirrors but man I was spell-bound by the end of it.
Let me explain, so there are a bunch of rooms (some 10 or 12), and you move from one to another. Each room has an immersive experience with beautiful lightings & mirrors spread across in a variety of ways. You have Flora room which has a tree which is lighted and the color of the light keeps changing; so does the grass in the room (this is my favourite room), next you have another room 'Harmonia' where there is a breathtaking light and sound show going on with flickering lights and loud sound. Then you have another room with a waterfall sort of thing. There is another one with panels of lights at different angles to each other. Then there is another one with lots of metallic spheres reflecting light at each other, another one of my favourites. This place is practically a heaven for Instagrammers and every angle is worth 100 pictures.
Staff: I loved the place, but even more than that I loved the staff there, they are the real gems. I visited AYA in the morning but due to some unfortunate circumstances, my mother could not join me, I had given up all hope but the person who was stamping my ticket said that he will scan one QR for me and leave the other one in case things change before eod, and boy he was so right, I was so impressed by the place that I insisted and brought my mom in the second half. Once my mom was there, I was reluctant to let her go alone, but she insisted that she will be fine. And to our luck another lady called Prateeksha landed as an angel for my mom. Prateeksha and everyone else inside all the rooms went out of their way to help and support my mom ensuring she enjoys all the experiences, and even took her pictures. My mom was so impressed with the place and found everyone so loving and caring that she cannot stop talking about AYA to anyone even mentioning Dubai in her vicinity.
Coming to the practicalities, take the MGreen Line going in the direction of Creek Metro Station and get down at Dubai Healthcare City Metro Station which is a 6 min walk to WAFI City. Unfortunately, you have to step out in Dubai sun, there is no direct connection from the Metro to the Mall. And finding the exact gate of the mall is also a bit challenging, though you can see the high triangular peak of the mall as you get out of the metro station. AYA is located on first floor of Wafi City, at the top of the elevators of the grand atrium. A Taxi from Miracle Garden to Wafi City Mall will cost you about 80 AED.
We bought our tickets online beforehand from Headout for AED 195 for 2 ppl. There are no additional charges for anything. Opening Hours: Sunday - Thursday: 10 AM - 10 PM; Friday - Saturday: 10 AM - 12 AM; Last entry 1 hour before closing.
About the mall, I would say there is nothing special here, it's quite a depressing mall to be honest in terms of merchandise. The exterior facade is nice with their Abu Simbel and Egyptian look, and there is a pyramid kind of pointed hall which looks lavish, but nothing worth buying. If you are looking for Indian food, there is a Khana Khazana Restaurant in the Food Court on First Floor.
This place is probably not for you if you have a problem with flickering lights or loud sound.
All in all, I would definitely visit again when I am in Dubai and would highly recommend!!!!
