What travellers are saying
- Happy Canadian1399 contributionsGuided tours only and no photos. Admission 30bs. We were fortunate to join a Spanish tour/English tour. This did make the tour longer than the usual 45 minutes, but well worth it. From the diorama in the first room to the showcases in each of the other rooms. Given the value of some of the exhibits, it's not surprising the visits are well monitored. There is a small alternative restaurant on the main floor to the left as you exit the museum, which is a good option for a quick and easy lunch.

We were able to see the church inside, walk around, and go to the rooftop. The rooftop was a great place to just relax and enjoy the white city.Written 11 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David N88 contributionsThe Bs 30 entrance fee is good value to learn all the history of Bolivia. Make sure you take the 1 hour guided tour (English tour with Maria) which is full of information.Written 19 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GrandTourist46826 contributionsI enjoyed my trip to see the dinosaur tracks but wouldn’t sacrifice a must-do in Sucre to do it. I took the dino bus (bright red bus with dinosaurs on the side, can’t miss it) there and back. I also took the English speaking tour even though I’m an intermediate Spanish speaker (I’m very glad I did since I don’t know dinosaur and archaeological words!). For me, the visit wouldn’t have been worth if I didn’t take the tour. All in all, I enjoyed this activity for a few hours.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GrandTourist46826 contributionsI enjoyed this museum very much and highly recommend a visit! The museum had English guide books (super helpful!) and I learned so much.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChinapjsWashington DC, DC3,786 contributionsWas a monestery which is interesting as a building. But everyone comes here for the view. It can be very crowded in tourist season especially around sunset. One idea, have your driver stop for ten minutes on the way to driving you to the airport. Worth an extra B/10. That's what we did.Written 18 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GrandTourist46826 contributionsI spent a few hours at the cemetery on a beautiful day and enjoyed it (I planned to go for 1 hour but spent 2-3 hours there). Like others said, it feels like a park. I wish I had paid for a guide and learned about the history and culture (instead I ended up googling things, which was not the best way to learn).Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nancy h39 contributionsThis was a pretty park. Next to it was a park with swings, slides etc for differnt ages with a dinosaur theme. But the park itself was very busy the day we passed which happened to be as Carnival began. There were kids throwing water balloons and shooting foam at each other. They were having fun, but we steered clear of all the "fun". There is a min Eiffel Tower as well. Good place to take a walk in a green area.Written 26 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- celenavotelScottsdale52 contributionsDefinitely something interesting to do for an afternoon. It’s a one trick pony in the way you are only going to see the wall . For us it was enough. You might as well do the hard hat tour to get a “little” closer. Start by taking the Dino bus from Mayo 25 park . You won’t miss it it’s a big double decker red bus with Dino on it. It’s 15 bol for round trip which is a deal. Once in the park you can pay for the tour. We left at 11 from the park (get there a few min early and stand in middle so you can look for bus) and then our tour was from 12-1250 or so . Then we took the 1:30 bus back. You will want to wear comfortable shoes and bring sunblock. Also there was a lot more walking involved then I had planned ( a big incline switch back ramp up to the ticket counter) and then going down for the tour and back up so I definitely felt like I did a little hike.
There is a little restaurant but it mostly sold ice cream so I would also bring snacks or drinks for your time there
So in conclusion- will it change your life? Maybe not but is it just a cool thing to do because it’s here? Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Simone BBrisbane, Australia52 contributionsEntrance was 20 Bs for foreigners and the only tour is in Spanish. The tour guide introduces the religious paintings and furniture that are predominantly from the 17th or 18th centuries. The guide talks about the nuns (monjas) and showed us where they lived and were buried. Between 400-600 monjas were buried in the crypt under the church (the tour takes you there). In the church is a big and very old organ. It is only played at Christmas and special nights). The convent is pretty and the only place you are allowed to take photos. In the middle is a garden where they grow some fruit and vegetables. After the tour of the museum be sure to head around the corner to their shop. The monjas still make and sell the only chicken empanadas in town and they were delicious (as were the salteñas). The fund from the tour and the food help pay for the ongoing restoration of the church.Written 17 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dawn BHatfield, UK13 contributionsThis was a really interesting visit. There’s not a huge amount to see, but what there is was interesting. Costumes, jewellery and tiny models of lifestyle icons throughout the years.Written 31 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
