Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Holds the Guiness World Record as the world's largest golf resort. Challenging place to golf. It offers 11 championship courses and one par-3 course.

i visited xichong beach during qinmin festival in april 2021. as these days are public holidays, we spent more time on the road than we'd on a regular day (it took 4 hours from the beach to Shenzhen by car on our way back)
the beach itself is very good, clean and big. entrance fee is 30 rmb. it's a popular spot among the surfers, there're many surf-clubs and you can rent a board, equipment or get a lesson easily. there's also parking and a shop at the beach.
what was a small disappointment, the fact that you can't get in the water and swim unless you surf. eventually we could get into the water for a swim, but not for long, there're guards who wouldn't let ppl swim. of course, we could go into the water ankle-deep, to take pictures, which was enough for local people, but i was a bit sad that i couldn't get a proper swim.
i'd come back there to surf, i liked the views and the village is cool, many places to stay and grab a bite.

Overall it is a very average ice-rink but I can't judge too harshly the ice quality and pretty worn (and ugly :) ) skates because it is still not typical kind of fun for Shenzhen, however the place seemed to be quite popular. Alps ice rink can become a very nice escape from the hot and humid weather. Better to bring extra clothes, internal temperature is about 10 C. Most of the cafes outside were closed during my visit, probably because February is not the peak of tourist season.

I have lived in Shenzhen for over ten years, but I never went to OCT because it has a reputation for being THE place for expats to chill out. But when my wife got ill, we went to the hospital next door and had the opportunity to visit the park.

It is beautiful and well done. A lot of money was invested in this place and it is quite evident. There are first class restaurants there with many offering either western style food or fusion variations of Chinese dishes. Of course, you are going to pay a premium on the food for the atmosphere. But that is ok. You get what you pay for; after all this IS China.

You should visit in the evening when everything is all lit up. You can walk under the amazing tunnel of light bridge and act like a typical Chinese and take a billion selfies on your iPhone.

I strongly recommend visiting this place.

We took our two young kids (4 and 6) here for a day out. One highlight was the ropes playground which our 6 year old loved messing round on for a good hour or so. Younger kids would find it a challenge, but any kids up to 10 would get something out of it.

The rainforest area with lots of concrete dinosaurs is well done. Any young dinosaur lover would enjoy the experience.

There are lots of eco pieces to chat about, from a small butterfly farm, a little field with vegetables, some bugs such as scorpions and peacocks.

Plenty to keep younger kids entertained and worth a day out.

Just avoid the two weeks around Easter. It seems this is the time all the schools go on field trips. The little show, a local stompish production has probably not played to a bigger crowd with hundreds and hundreds of excited primary kids in the audience.

We stayed in this expensive hotel because our host put us there. It is a "luxury" hotel only in its outside appearance. Room quality is poor (incl. broken bathroom tap parts), hotel service abysmally low, and the staff is incredibly rude --2 star hotel max. Two examples: (1) A colleague sent me an express (overnight) package from another Chinese city. It stayed at the hotel gate (delivery was not allowed to proceed any further), and the hotel reception never informed me about the arrival of the package, which was discovered only after a long search process involving the delivery company, my colleague and myself. (2) The breakfast supposedly starts at 7am. Yet, you can get nothing until around 7:30am. We were waiting for 1/2 hr while the staff profoundly ignored us, and when around 7:30am we asked a little box to carry a coffee and a few biscuits with us to the airport, the staff of the "luxury" hotel rudely refused to accommodate us.

We arrived in Dapeng by bus ana before we attempted to change another local bus to the beach we're tools the beach was closed as the resort was under major renovation. When the facilities will reopen is unknown.
We then took another local bus to Yang Mei Kang beach but was disappointed to find that the beaches were privately run and everything had a price tag. Hundreds of bikes for rent but hardly anyone around. The local hotels are fairly pricy so we didn't stay and returned to HK the same day.

Having been stuck in Gongming district in Shenzhen, I've taken to running the river, which frankly smells bad and has surprising amounts of ev traffic. Went running instead toward the pagoda I saw off in the distance and was delighted to find a hundred + foot climb up stairs to not one, but three separate pagodas in a heavily wooded park near the center of town. As a hike/jog, it's not much, but it makes a great 30-45 minute diversion. The main entrance is on the south side. The view from the central pagoda is stunning. The pagoda looks down on the main entrance and the vertical assent by the main set of stairs. The stairs look like to be straight out of the Kung Fu Panda movies. Steep, straight and long. I'm sure they look better from the top. There are two other paths up, both of which are wooded and more interesting on the east and west.

Varied activities. Lychee picking. Fair ground. Nice lake to walk around. Small zoo. But got boring after a few hours.

Snacks and drinks super expensive as is the restaurant.

    Not a great place.

I've been there in a working day waiting for the flight.
It is a nice place with some good plants.
It does not seem very successful for the great public.
But still you can spend some hours in a calm environment with the lakes by side.
Some activity is included in the ticket. Be aware to "fly over the lake" has a very sharp end.

    60 rmb the entrance
