Great tour on the Great Wall with very few tourists on this part of the tour. Nice group and cool guide. Almost 10km hike up-and-down - so be a bit trained.

We had a wonderful tour with Huang! Very informative, special, and peaceful - like a work of art. We learned very much about the history and captured beautiful photos... and memories. And very good lunch! Highly recommended, 10/10!!

We did the Eastern Qing tomb's tour only since we had visited the Great Wall earlier. The tour company was flexible in accommodating our schedule, not to mention was responsive as we booked the tour months ahead of our trip to Beijing.

Lucy was our tour guide and was very knowledgable - she was able to compare and contrast the Qing tomb to that of the Ming one, which we have not visited - giving us a fuller context of ancient Chinese cultures, in this case, what death and afterlife meant.

We strongly recommend this tour if you look to experience more Beijing as this gives us a rare, unique glimpse of Chinese history beyond those of standard tourist places such as Forbidden City, etc.

Starting our adventure to the Great Wall of China was a breeze, thanks to our awesome driver who picked us up from our hotel right on time. The ride there was smooth and peaceful, getting us all hyped up for the day ahead.

Let me tell you, this isn't just a leisurely stroll—it's a serious climb. The tour covers about 6 kilometers of the Wall, and it’s mostly just steps, going up and down. They don’t kid around when they say it’s for fit folks. I work out pretty regularly, but I was definitely feeling the burn with all those steps. We were on our feet climbing for nearly three hours straight, with hardly any time to catch our breath.

The Wall is well-equipped, though. There are trash bins and toilets every kilometer, which is super handy. Just make sure to bring your own toilet paper because you won't find any there.

Also, there are small vendors selling drinks right on the Wall, but the prices are pretty steep. My advice? Pack at least two liters of water per person and some snacks to keep you going.

Shoe-wise, ditch the trainers and go for some solid mountain shoes. The steps are all over the place in terms of size—some are tiny, but others are massive, up to 45 cm high. And let me tell you, some of those steps are seriously steep.

If you're thinking there might be some flat parts to catch a break, think again. It's just endless steps up and down. By the end, my legs and calves were totally mush.

One heads-up: there aren’t any handrails, and some spots are pretty tricky to maneuver through. Each tower along the Wall does have a shelter, which is great if you get caught in the rain. We lucked out with just cloudy skies, but I bet those steps get super slippery when wet.

All in all, climbing the Great Wall is an epic experience, but it’s no walk in the park. It’s tough, but totally worth it for the views and the bragging rights. Just make sure you're ready for a workout and pack smart!

Outstanding tour! Not crowded at all, even during golden week.
It is a challenging hike, so physical fitness is a must. The sunset was insanely beautiful and our driver very friendly. You walk at your own pace and only meet again at the central tower. Best thing we did and well worth the long drive (2-3hrs).

Today we travelled to the Wall at Jinshanling, our driver Zhou went above and beyond. Great conversation - great driving- great help when we got to Jinshanling with tickets etc . Patiently waited for us to return . Due to high traffic congestion on the way back to Beijing - he knew all the short cuts/ alternative routes to take - so we got to see more of Beijing.
The Great Wall itself at Jinshanling is quite spectacular with wonderful views - Zhou got the map for us and marked out a route - that made things easier too. Don’t queue for the cable car - the walk up is an easy one.

It was the best of my stay in Beijing China. Our guide Lily was excellent. She goes out of the way to make your trip most enjoyable. This tour has better views and can take better pictures without many people around. One can ride the cable car up if you don't want to walk and can take the cable car while going up and Toboggan ride down is an added attraction and is great fun. In the beginning it looks scary but you end up much more than the cable cars.
