Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Minato Mirai 21 shines! Great for exploring on foot, it offers something for everyone - shopping, stunning harbor views, and even a cable car ride!

Even on a cloudy and windy day, this is a beautiful and interesting place. If you can get a guided tour from one of the gardeners, do so. You'll learn a lot about the garden as it is today and its history. We had only a couple of hours but I could see spending much of a day here.

A quick train ride from our hotel. Was worth the trip. This place had a lot of personality. Being from the USA, it was fun visiting a "Chinatown" in a different country.

We had a chance to visit the Red Brick Warehouse during our recent trip to Yokohama. This is a very pleasant area near the waterfront. There were many small shops and restaurants both in the warehouse and in the surrounding area. We visited on a weekend and the area was full of positive energy - happy folks, families, and people walking their pets.

There were also many, many food trucks offering lots of wonderful food. We weren't sure if this was a special occasion or if they are present every weekend.

A nice place to visit if you are in the Yokohama area.

Landmark tower is Yokohama, you can see it from almost anywhere. It has a really big shopping center inside, and one of the best customer services I had ever seen from the shopping staff: One staff lady there did her best to help me find exotic fish slippers until we found out that the store was closed and it only sells in summer in Japan anyway. They got an observatory as well if you want to pay for it.

We did this activity after visiting Chinatown that is only a few blocks away. There is a cost to go up but it is reasonable in cost.

BOTTOM LINE: We really like seeing the city, harbor and shoreline from above. Yokohama really is a beautiful city. The city views and lower building roof top views seem to go forever. Down below you can see several beautiful landscaped parks and water fountains that are pretty amazing. Over-all we thought it was well worth the price of admission. Many of the businesses on the lower floor were closed. It is an older attraction but still fun to enjoy. MY RATING: 8/10.

Access to this ship is from Yamashita Park.

    Admission is 300 yen.

This is a look into the luxury liner of the past.
Engine room, galley, dining area, bedrooms - the lifestyle of the super-rich of the time. Which is pretty interesting.

I would not call this a must-go destination but it is a good way to see something interesting while you happen to be enjoying the park or a walk on the water. Gundam Factory is on the next berth over.

This is Yokohama's version of Fifth Avenue. Motomachi is a pleasant street with quite a variety of boutiques and restaurants. Many of them are local brands. There are also plenty of seats in case visitors want to sit and experience the lively shopping scene.

This entire area has a lot to do and the Nipponmaru Memorial Park is within the general stroll of the entire Minatomirai area. It's available to see 24 hours a day, meaning the ship stays anchored. The lights seemed to turn off around 10pm. I am not sure if tours of the actual ship are available. You could easily spend the entire day checking out everything to see nearby also.

My 12 year old son and I (me more so) really enjoyed our visit at the Nissan Gallery. We (I) spent a good 2 hours there checking out the different cars on display. Most of the cars on the floors were opened for visitors to sit in, with the exceptions of the vintage / special editions Z's / Fairlady's and Skylines. They also had different driving simulators / arcades for all ages to enjoy. A must visit for any car-people.

Tips: They welcome tourists/ visitors on test drives, including the GTR; make sure you bring both your International Driver License, DR from your home country!

With English descriptions at the beginning of each group of displays, the English speaking visitor gets a rough idea of what it's all about, but no detail. Some of the displays look interesting, but without the information available in English it's vaguely dissatisfying. The brochure I received on entering had general descriptions of the displays on each floor in English but, once again, no detail.
The museum is in a lovely old building, with excellent, spacious display spaces and a varied collection of artefacts, models and documents. It's easy to find, using the map provided by the Tourist Information Centre right outside Sakuragicho train station. The museum is a 10 minute walk from the station. The museum is inexpensive at 300 yen and has lockers (100 yen, returned at the end). It also has a small cafe.
With so much else for a foreign tourist to do in Yokohama, I would recommend the museum to visitors who are in Yokohama for more than a week. There are so many other, better, attractions to visit. Even for history buffs like me, the museum is not that great if you don't read Japanese.

The whole street about 350 meters is covered under roof and it’s called arcade shopping street.

Very close from Bandobashi subway station.

Very lively shopping area where many food stands, restaurants, groceries and other shops selling goods during daytimes.

Good to walk around and buy nibbles here or there. Well recommended place for raining day activities.
